They should wait, not over spend / trade for a QB. You just can't plug and play a QB during TC. You can for other positions, if a CB can't play, bring in another...not so much with a QB.

Now, I never thought Showers was the answer last year, and still don't this year. But I will wait until I see him play in a preseason game to decide or not. not that what i think matters. It only matters for posting...LOL...

But just reading the headlines, it's like...hey she's the last girl against the wall to ask to dance, so maybe she's not so ugly after all, so I dance with her, for now....

Kinda like when we knew Romo wasn't the answer. He is an admittedly long, long shot but he persevered this far. sometimes things happen for a reason maybe all he needs is an opportunity. Personally i can't wait for the first preseason game so i can see with my own eyes.

Its funny, I picture guys posting that Showers is nothing because he was an UDFA... while wearing a Romo jersey.

Then why weren't we grooming him last season on the PS instead of having him play ST and various positions?

Last year in camp he played ST because he is athletic enough to do it and if he somehow won the 3rd string QB job it would be a huge help for him to play ST during the regular season. Once they signed him to the PS, he played some DB because they didn't have enough bodies to fill out the scout team. He was always considered a QB on the PS and came to this year's camp purely as a QB.

There are a bunch of negative nellies on this board that will never be happy or satisfied. That's
primarily because they are entrenched with the Madden philosophy. If not rated highly in Madden
they must suck. If a certain QB with a name of (QC) had not been bounced for using dope by
Parcells, Romo would be staring on another NFL team right now. It took about 3 years
before Parcells trusted Romo. Give these young guys a chance before you kick them to the curb...

You know what. Forget acquiring another qb. Give the back up reps to showers and dak. Showers getting these reps and preseason games could really improve his game. He was better than the 2 scrub qbs last year that's for sure. I'm glad he improved in the offseason let's roll with what we got

I kind of do too. He didn't look in over his head last preseason and he's got some mobility which this offense needs IMO.

I wouldn't bet on him but I'm not going to completely dismiss him yet.

They didn't say he was a starter merely they thought he could play in this league. Considering the paucity of starting QBs I'd say that doesn't mean a lot right now. I like his presence (for a rookie), mobility, and arm. That's not saying he's accurate but he has a big league arm for what that's worth....not a lot.

This team has developed one QB in all the years that Jerry has owned the team. And Parcells and Peyton were responsible for that. I don't like the odds.

FO gives us a yearly parade, blokes, of over the hill vets, others rejects and re-energized bodies such as Scandrick (how long has he been a Cowboy?) who feel this is their year. Now Showers. Yes maybe he just needs an opportunity. Don't they all? As for Romo, a diamond in the rough. Yet two career playoff wins as a QB.
The boys are in camp.
And our fan camp is called to order, chaps, to fantasize about CFL-level would-bes who could never make it to a camp as elite and vigorous as Jimmy Johnson's championship years camp.

That's what a ton of people said about Romo when he was 3rd string. If Parcells and Payton
hadn't seen something he would have been cut long before becoming our Franchise.

By the grace of God Romo made it here. The coaches definitely saw something!
Believe me, bloke, I replay and replay his two career playoff wins as a QB and savor those highlights of his HOF career.
