News: ST: Stephen Jones: Romo will be ready for training camp and start of season

Stephen Jones on what Tony Romo said about the possibility of the Cowboys drafting a QB: "There's no one out there who can beat me out."
It looks like Gene's genes (that's funny) were not strong enough to suppress Jerry's diarrhea-of-the-mouth genes. Still, Romo said the right thing IF Stephen asked him his opinion of the team drafting Manziel, Bridgewater, etc. Supreme self-confidence is a trait which a team wants to feel exuding from the starting quarterback. Of course, the comment wasn't mandatory if Romo volunteered it during a conversation. Knowing Romo, he probably expressed it in a joking manner. Good thing it appears Romo can back (that's funny too) his claim.

That us an arrogant comment considering his history.

What history? Getting the hell beat our of him for years with out help? smh

(i really need to start considering the source of some post made around here)

You really should.

Did I post that??? :)

He

He never has to worry about having another QB in Dallas to challenge him. I think that was made clear when Jerry passed on drafting Manziel.

I'd say that's patently wrong. He's the franchise QB right now. He's got the next two years, at least, until we bring in eventual replacements. And even then, they're not going to walk in playing at a higher level than Tony Romo's going to be playing at in camp.

As a mod, you need to start considering the source of some posters also!

(stupid cowboy mods)

Yeah, Steven said Tony had a cyst removed last year, and he was good to go. Right?

Some of you, really.

Last year, Romo had a tendon taken from his back that was causing him problems. They put the tendon in his throwing arm so that he could get more velocity on his throws.

I love the comment. I wouldn't want him to sugar-coat it. Plus, Tony is spot on.

That's what I want to hear from my QB!

I think most teams fit this statement. How many other teams passed on him, was it again 21 teams? Don't matter if they need QB's or not. It seems the media will say and act like the Cowboys were the only team that passed him up, kind of like they were the only team passing on Randy Moss according to the media......

Yo,,,dog! This is 2014. If you need to keep reverting to years ago to hate Romo, then you need a check up from the neck up!

Are you kidding? We have won one playoff game. The guy has had good stats but we haven't won jack. We've been talented some years not talented others and it certainly has not been solely on him but everything around this team has changed during his era but him and we don't win. To some around here and apparently the Jones family it's everyone but him that is the problem. I'm just looking forward to removing the last variable in this ongoing purgatory and seeing which direction the club takes. We had a opportunity this year to begin that process but somewhat understandably chose to weather the truly crippling portion of this horrid contract. If we struggle this year and the opportunity presents itself I don't think ownership will be able to put off acquiring someone who can move this club forward.

Playoff wins are not proof that a guy is a good QB.

Neither are Super Bowls. Just look at E-Lie!

Romo has the right attitude. The Cowboys should have drafted Manziel, anyway. Manning and Brady have not gotten the deference that we give to him.

I'll try Eli's crappy *** with a horseshoe up his butt and two Lombardis over Tony and his multiple Fantasy Football titles. He has not got it done when matters

How many starting QB's really have a guy back there "pushing" them?

That thought is absolute nonsense.

You get a 1st round QB behind romo and it's not helpful to the franchise.

It's instant quarterback controversy.

And you know it.
