It's such a cozy atmosphere. Sickening situation. When the page gets turned, perhaps the organization will get back to the basics. That's a top flight QB held to the appropriate standard with a continuous eye on grooming a backup to truly do the job if he goes down. I hesitate to say we will never win a super bowl with Romo because stranger things have happened. Romo is a solid QB but his skills are beginning to erode and we have no contingency plan. Weeden? PUHLEEASE...

This isn't just about Romo though. It is mostly about the HC that lacks the basic ability to outsmart opposing HCs.

You are opening a can of worms when you say Romo is in a state of decline. I went through this argument yesterday. Some fans refuse to believe it. I think Jerry will be hard to convince as well. He is spending a ton of money on Romo and it will take a miracle for him to see that his investment is going South.

It's not arrogance if it has the benefit of being true.

Exactly. When people want him to be a leader and have confidence
lol.. no we don't. Wouldn't matter if it were Orton or Romo. Same result.

You're right that you can't predict that, but I do know that Romo is far better than Orton and the way the defense played that game, I really think that we would have had a better shot with Romo.

If you want to look at numbers, the bad stats has to be included as well.

That's fine. I believe he had one of his statistically best seasons last year.

Quick fact: In all our losses last year, Romo threw 17 TD and 3 pics.

I am not a Romo fan any longer, but there is no doubt that he is the best chance to win games considering the quality of the backups.

Didn't say they were but he made some huge plays throughout there two runs. We can't even get in position to make a run.

Eli was the product of two of the greatest post season defensive runs in the history of football and some incredibly we'll timed dropped INTs mixed in with some of those clutch throws, but I digress.

Based on the number of posts - welcome to the ten percent club. It's not a disparaging term, it's a product of the numbers. This is the club of the same few posters saying the same things about Romo time after time extending threads by 15 and 20 pages. Members of this club are utterly amazed at the amount of support Rom receives here. So let me bring you up to date with a a Readers Digest summary.

Much of Romo's support by the vast majority of posters here is due to common sense, and accentuated with posts by resident expert Percy Howard, who has demonstrated better than any media "expert" the following couple of examples...

NO QB, historically speaking, could have won with the defensive numbers we put up last few seasons. When you add in Jerry's insistence that the offensive line was "in good shape" when it was horrendous in Romo's prime it becomes obvious we have been a mirage because we are much worse than Romo has let us be.

The reoccurring theme among ten percenters is they can't wait to move on with a better QB than Romo . We'll, you will get you chance when Romo is finished to fill the void and we will have to either be very bad or very lucky to get one, otherwise, we all know the next Quincy is right around the corner.

I'll try Eli's crappy *** with a horseshoe up his butt and two Lombardis over Tony and his multiple Fantasy Football titles. He has not got it done when matters

If that's all it takes I'm sure we can start a thread for donations to buy you a replica.

Stephen Jones on what Tony Romo said about the possibility of the Cowboys drafting a QB: "There's no one out there who can beat me out."

ok that's what i love hearing Hope this lights a fire under him, I'm rooting for this dude. His window is almost closed

What's his winning percentage against teams with winning records? Stats are good , but they don't tell the whole story. If you look at Romo's passing stats, he looks good. The one stat that matters the most doesn't look so good , wins.

It's still a team game. The other side of the ball hasn't been holding their own for a while now.

I'm not a Romo hater but whatever makes your statement feel relevant. Like Nike says. Just do it. ;-)

If you don't think Romo can walk on water, you are labeled a hater. I wasn't , but I embrace the label now. My opinion was that Romo is a good QB, but he has some big flaws in his game. I have also said that he is the best chance of winning right now due to lack if options at the QB position. That got me the hater label.

I understand some concern based on a back surgery, but it seems a tad bit premature to be closing the lid on the coffin of Romo's career. Didnt he have like 31 TD's and 10 INT's last season? The guy has always had great 4th quarter QBR numbers - historically good. Always better than the 2 time SB champ E-Lie in just about every category that is measured to determine how effective a QB is.

Now if you want to point to a team that needs to seriously consider that their QB is in decline it would be the G-Men with E-Lie - the league leader in INT's. And thats even reason for concern with as many as E-Lie typically throws in a season.

I don't think the stats tell the whole story about Romo. I never have trusted stats due to the stats showing him to be a great QB, but it isn't reflected with wins. The late game meltdowns are not included either and there are other things that stats don't show. As to the point about Romo's decline, I think his arm has gotten weaker and it shows on the deep ball. His back injuries could be a factor as well. Romo's arm strength could be the reason that Callahan ran a dink and dunk passing game. I don't think he is totally washed up by any means, but he is showing signs of age. At his age, there is no where to go but down. His decline may be long and drawn out , or it could end his career within a year or two. Nobody, including Romo, can say for sure. I don't think he will last another five or six years like some fans.
