'Harsh' isn't the word I'd use. But based on his posts, is anyone surprised that he username is sophomoric?

But he's 0-2 in the playoffs and wears his hat backwards. Cut the bum. Pro Bowl QBs are easy to replace.

Ya heard. The Romo hate is a thin line between love and hate. They know he's right on the edge of being the toast of the NFL forever ... like Brady, Manning P, Favre and all the romeo QBs. The talking heads are just frustrated Monday morning QBs. I'm riding the Romo bus until the wheels fall off.

Seriously? that is what that stands for?
Yes sir, and I changed it to that for him when Henson was released. I had no idea what it meant or I never would have. I was a fireman. I found dead bodies on more than one occasion. My cousin lost a husband and infant in a fire. I think it is tasteless and he knows that. He doesn't care. So I try and avoid his posts.

Why does the immortal favre get compared to the very mortal Romo constantly. Is is their height?

Its not their arms, playoff wins or superbowl rings.

Reckless play I guess, except you can get away with it when you have some league clout.
How can people even ask this? Because of his gambling style of play.

Wow....things have taken a turn from the original post.

In an effort to change the subject...

For those that re-watched the Seattle playoff game....Did Witten originally get a first down? Then it was reviewed and the spot was changed? Then we had to settle for the field goal attempt that Romo fumbled? I can't bear to re-watch it and that is what is in my memory.

To McCordsville Cowboy...I was glad to see your post that you at least appreciate that Romo is the best QB we've had in awhile. As a casual reader and a non-frequent poster, your posts appear to be overly negative to the point that I would think you were just playing a role here to draw more traffic.

To the original article that was posted. It is great to see the accomplishments Romo has so far in his career. He has entertained me with his play and has given the Cowboys a chance to win more than he's lost it. That article reminded me of how I should have appreciated watching Danny White and I will remind myself of that when I get uptight about Romo's mistakes. We are a spoiled fan-base and I think we easily lose sight of the mistakes our heroes made as they learned the game.

otherwise they would remember the Hogebooms

To those of us who remember Tom Landry, he isn't Gary Hogeboom. He's Gary Hogenbloom.

You need to mispronounce his name the way the guy in the fedora did, else you're not really showing your age ;).

And he has a Super Bowl ring. Amazing how everything is good once you win one of those.

Maybe Tony will get one, maybe not. He is still better then most in the NFL and is the best option for the Cowboys Now.

Kind of interesting to note that the Jets' defense was #1 in 1968 (in the AFL) and they had 2 PB WRs in George Sauer and Don Maynard. Namath completed fewer than 50% of his passes that year and threw 2 more INTs than TDs.

They say that defense wins championships and they are right. Until our defense steps up and plays well in big games we won't win a SB regardless of who our QB is. Romo is a very good QB and could be great if we can get our defense to play 60 minutes of every game.

If we get our defense to play 60 minutes of every game, we're in a whole lotta trouble.

I never said any such thing. Now you're putting words in my mouth. I merely stated it was good to see a post showing all the good things that Romo has achieved in his young career; ranking him among the all-time greats at this point.

What does your post prove? Does it show all the plays called back cause our offensive line can't seem to remember the snap count? Or the balls he's had to rush scrambling cause he hasn't had the protection say a Peyton Manning or a Tom Brady get? What about the ball that Crayton stutter-stepped on that was RIGHT THERE! Do you think that would erase the "Tony hasn't won a playoff game yet" threads? Or the slick ball that went through his hands that should have beat Seattle? You betcha. Romo's fault? Eh.. yeah I guess.. But doesn't reflect on his ability to quarterback and lead this team.

Dude, it takes 53 players to win or lose a game. Putting it all on Romo is just an easy way to assign the blame. Fact is, it's the fault of Jerry Jones all the way down to the kicker, and then you mix in a bad break here and there. You have a very narrow-minded approach to what's happened to this team.

Wow... what an excellent post. A very much common sense approach.

Too few people realize just how true what you wrote is.

Great job. Post more often, please.

Because clearly Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne and Dallas Clark would have simply sucked with Payton Manning.

Good thing Owens is so busy elevating Edwards to Canton...

Thank you. Marvin Harrison, 1st round draft pick, 8 Pro Bowls. Reggie Wayne, 1st round draft pick, 3 Pro Bowls. Yep, those guys bring a terrible pedigree.

Meanwhile, we have a couple of undrafted receivers, a 7th round pick, and what seems to be a very overhyped wide receiver from my alma mater. At least we struck gold at TE (82) but unfortunately he needs to stay in and block these days (?). I'm hoping Miles Austin continues to progress, but we can only wait and see.

And anyone who thinks T.O. was the only thing boosting Romo's numbers needs to pop in some tapes of Drew Bledsoe from 2005 and 2006. Or Brad Johnson from three games in 2008.

If you do watch those tapes, remember to have some alka seltzer on hand. You'll thank me later.

[On a side note, looks like the Cowboys brass were dead on for dropping Owens when they did. I have always said that cutting T.O. had to do with his declining skills more than removing the circus. If he were still 2007 T.O., he would still be here. But the stats gurus saw that he had a steep dropoff at the end of last year, and the Cowboys must have thought this was the end of the road. I think he can do better than what he is showing in Buffalo right now ... good luck in that offense ... but he is obviously no longer the game breaking receiver. Just another overpaid, overhyped, JAG with declining skills, speed that is slipping, and no hands.]

DOH! That's what I get for throwing out stupid and tired phrases like that. You'd think that at my age I'd know better. :bang2:

Good catch.

I think our expectations for Romo are unrealistic. The team hasn't won a playoff game in ages, but Romo has only been the starter for 3 of those years. How many QBs (other than big ben) have won tons of playoff games in their first 3 years as a starter? Fans are taking out their frustrations on Romo.

Romo has helped this team get to the playoffs in two out of three of those seasons (how many times did we reach the playoffs in the years before he became the starting Qb?). In the season he didn't get us to the playoffs, he was out for three weeks and he was not 100% of a few of the following games.

Also, can we really blame him for the 2 playoff loses? There is no doubt he is partly responsible for the Seattle loss, but Witten and Glenn also had bonehead plays that cost us a lot. But hey, I'll give you this one... Romo was a big reason why we lost that game. But it was his first playoff game in his first season as a starter... and thanks to Parcells, he was our holder.

I remember a lot of dropped passes on the NY games. Did everybody forget Crayton's mistakes? What about Fasano's drop? Is this all Tony's fault? I also remember Eli driving the giants to a TD in the final seconds of the 2nd quarter. We dominated all the half, but our defense let Eli score easily in a matter of seconds. Is that also Romo's fault?

Yes, it has been frustrating to be a Cowboy fan these past 12 years. But Romo can't come in and fix everything. Instead, everyone should blame the person that has been in charge for this organization the past 15+ years.

You know why Eli was able to do that? Because his receivers caught the friggin' ball. Fasano and Crayton let us down. IIRC, TO dropped a big pass too. And Glenn was a trooper, but too injured to even be out there. And the defense... It was a team loss and we can only blame Romo for his own mistakes.

You have hate on your shirt.

Not really, I supported TO when he was here... but I believe his personality and lockerroom drama (whether overblown or not) will keep him out of the HOF, if not indefinitely, at least for awhile. The fact he'll never win a ring doesn't help either. HOF has a lot of that popularity contest element to it, just like the Pro Bowl.
