Again, the evidence isn't in your favor....JJ was on the field when we scored 4 TD's...can't get the offense going?

They both did fine....reminds me of the Troy Hambrick vs. Emmitt Smith arguements.

They spell each other just fine.

JJ happened to be on the field during those TDs. That's a very subjective stat you choose to flaunt...

As the season progresses I will gladly revisit this with you regarding Barber being the starter. It showed last season but was masked tonight with an all world game by the master Tony Romo. Barber is the better back.

The fact that this type of thread keeps being posted so often is a sure sign that something is behind this. I was watching the game with a few people that are not cowboys fans so they dont have the memory of last year at all. They kept saying the same thing this post is saying. "Why isnt he getting more carries?"

I dont care who starts and who subs. But i cannot act like i dont see that MB3 is a more productive back. He was last year. And i have no reason to believe that this year will be any different.

The real question is Why does Julius Jones automatically get to be the number 1 back? What has he done to earn this? I thing the majority of analyst and fans can see that MB3 is a more productive back.

I like Julius. He seems like a great guy. Every time he touches the ball i want him to take it all the way. But how many more games am I supposed to watch where he is out performed by Barber and not say anything?

It just seems that people want to bash on a certain RB and use any excuse that they can such as "Our offense can't move the ball with him in there.".....I showed that that sort of statement is just pure crap.

Just deal with it...we have and NEED 2 RB's at a minimum....does it REALLY matter WHO starts the game? There are times where the guy that starts doesn't always get the most carries.

Julius is a better starter, MBIII's running style just isn't IMO. For every good run barber has it seems like hes got one where he dances too much. Against a good tackling defense, that TD run doesnt happen IMO.

Man.. when I watch Barber "do what he does" I feel like we have our very own LaDanian Tomlinson.

Barber is a FORCE!

I still like the 1-2 punch of Julius-Barber

I know we scored 45 but I think we can clearly see Barbar is defintly an upgrade. Most of the points we scored was by Barbar or when he was in. I was the biggest Julius fan but being objective Marion Barbar is the better back.
Gee, did it ever occur to anyone that maybe the reason Barber looks so good when he comes in is because he's always fresh?

That's the beauty of having 2 good backs. It's not broke. Leave it alone.

That's where you have it wrong. I don't see anywhere in my posts where I bash JJ. I simply see the difference in our running game with MB on the field.

It might not be so obvious when we're punching up 45 points but it will become very obvious when we play some of the better run defenses in the league. As much as I would like to think we'll punch 45 every week the realist in me sees a more conservative number.

JJ is a good back. He runs well, is shifty, and can take it to the house. Fortunately for us, Barber is a juggernaut that moves the ball forward every single time he touches it.

Once again, let me reiterate... I am all for having two backs. It seems to work very well for us. Don't get my point twisted. I want to see Barber enjoy the bulk of the carries. When that happens our offense, as a whole, will be a force to reckon with all season long.

When the Giants defense starting getting tired they were begging for us to run outside with Julius and we ran up the middle right into them..... gotta fix that... make them chase him... he had a nice run up the right side

Look....each one is going to have his good games and his bad games....it's a GOOD thing that we are in this situation.

Barber doesn't and no back out there gets yards EVERY time he touches the ball...there were plenty of times last year when Barber was in the game in the first qtr. and got negative yardage or didn't have big numbers....this is before the defense was worn down. I'm not saying that he CAN'T do well against teams when starting but I do remember last year when he didn't do well when he did start and this board was full of comparisons to T-Ham.

Who cares if Barber starts. He'll get his carries and he'll get his yards.

I do. I'm tired of starting games slowly. Do you have any other questions? We always seem to finish well... Thank god. Who normally has the ball in his hands at that time?

Good night. I can't stay up all night going back and forth but will gladly revisit this subject again down the road. Hopefully we're still punching 45 every game. You all know my stance and I know yours. Whoopie.

So Jimz, what are your thoughts on this comment by the Giants LB Pierce?

Gaints LB A. Pierce in a spot on the WFAN stated(this is as close i can recall). They may have given Julius Jones the spot but its Marion Barber that we were concerned about..

Special thanks to Sledge for providing this info. It's nothing I didn't already know. Thoughts?

There is nothing wrong with fielding the most productive team. Yes, 52 points would have been great. We are trying to put the most effective team on the field and have it grow thru the season until the trophy is ours. I would not rest on my laurels that were a weak pathetic Gints D. If the team is better with MB3 starting, and are less productive with Jujo, then I dont think you say what the heck, its good enough. You go with the better player.

Unbelievable, we score 45 points and gain almost 500 yards of offense, and people want to change something about it? wow

No, I dont think thats the point at all. Its about fielding the best team. If MB makes the team better, so be it. The NY Gnats should in no way be our barometer. To stay ahead of the curve u act preemptively. Again, if it makes a difference. I cannot really think of a good reason to keep the better player off the field.

Well, gee, then according to your logic, JJ should look as good & refreshed as MBIII when he comes back in the relieve him. Why isn't he? Barber can run the ball a half dozen times, & still look stronger than Jones coming in fresh off the bench.
As Deion mentioned during a recent NFL.com highlight of the game, Barber looks like Romo just told him this was the last carry of his life. He has a sense of urgency that most don't have, including Jones. What I can't understand is that no matter how buffed JJ seems to get, he almost always goes down at the first hit. Not MBIII.

Let's take a look in the mirror...and ask yourself...if you could have only one of the RBs....which would it be?
