Julius is a better starter, MBIII's running style just isn't IMO. For every good run barber has it seems like hes got one where he dances too much. Against a good tackling defense, that TD run doesnt happen IMO.
That's my biggest gripe about Barber. Stop the dancing and just go.

The one thing I do see about Julius this year is that he is a bit more consistent....

But I understand why people like Barber. He gets two yards, his helmet comes off and he looks like some warrior dude as he walks on the field. Very exciting to watch.

Julius may get the same boring 2 yards, but he doesn't get up looking like he's about to fight anyone.

:lmao: WG... Julius only looked a bit more consistent last night when he saw Barber bowling people over on 4th & 1 on his way to 6. MB3 is JJ's consistency.

In case you're wondering why I laughed.. you have an eloquent way of basically saying STHU. :)

I wasn't saying STHU, nicely or otherwise. :)

I understand why people gripe on Jones, because he hasn't really displayed his breakaway speed with any consistency sense his rookie year. But the way he's busting thru holes and picking up tough yards going up the middle impresses me. Sure, there may be times when he could bounce it to get more yards, but I imagine we have a better view from our couch than he does with bodies flying around him. But I do like what I've seen. It's not as exciting, but I like it.

Mind you, I do like Barber. He does get you pumped with his running style. But I absolutely hate when he gets the ball and he starts running sideways.

I misread you then. My apologies. I like them both too. I just would prefer to see more MB3. As long as we're winning everyone will remain happy.

I understand its only one game and the offense played well with Jones taking the bulk of the carries. However, just because we scored 45 points against the Giants does not mean the running game cannot or should not be tweaked.

I guarantee you the Cowboys are NOT going to be scoring 45 points per game week after week. There is always something that can be improved.

If the fact that Jones was in all the plays where we scored off of PASSES is important....than by all means give him more plays where he can help misdirect the Defense from Romo and make some blocks.

But if your talking about who should get the most carries...give me the guy with 5.9 yrds per carry than the guy with 4.1 yards per carry any day.

Rushing ATT YDS TD LG AVG
J. Jones 16 66 0 21 4.1
M. Barber 11 65 1 19 5.9

I want Barber to start to see if he can carry the load. If we find out Barber is the franchise back, we can use our first rounders on DT/WR/CB/DE etc. We wouldn't even have to draft McFadden. I can already see Jones not being offered a contract by season's end. Theres no way in hell i'd let Barber walk next season, or become a restricted free agent at the end of this season.

Wade said today that Jones and Barber will alternate their roles, so I assume that means in some games we are going to see Barber start

I sorta asked this question in another thread. I, personally, would find the answer very interesting. There weren't too many answers in the other thread. Perhaps it hit home.

Knowing what you know now, if you had a chance to bring MB3 or JJ to the Dallas Cowboys which back do you sign?

ok? I read the post and you tried to downgrade the points we scored

you said the offense is better with Barber even though most of the points were with JJ on the field

and you said JJ didnt play hard until barber made a good run

All of this is a bunch of BS IMO

We scored 45 points in a NFL game yesterday no matter who it was against

You dont **** with success

No, I dont think thats the point at all. Its about fielding the best team. If MB makes the team better, so be it. The NY Gnats should in no way be our barometer. To stay ahead of the curve u act preemptively. Again, if it makes a difference. I cannot really think of a good reason to keep the better player off the field.

The coaches obviously feel we are fielding the best team, and we scored 45 points and proved it.

Let's take a look in the mirror...and ask yourself...if you could have only one of the RBs....which would it be?

I wouldnt want only one, if I couldnt have both then I would want an elite back, which neither of them are

MB3. He's a catalyst for us. His play is inspiring.

LOL... Ok man. I'm looking forward to broaching this subject throughout the course of the marathon. We'll be sure to bring it back up as the season rolls along. You're very emotional about those 45 point we put up in one week against the Giants. I'm not as emotional but I am proud of our offense. Ask yourself this. On that 4th & 1 would you have been gripping if JJ was in there at tailback? Thanks to MB3 the momentum swung solely in our direction with that rumble for the TD on 4th & 1. I know you don't honestly believe we're going to bust a 45 spot every week. Our defensive issues are well documented so we don't need to hash that out. The status quo works great until you go up against a team that has plenty of film on you. We're going to have to "outscore" opponents for a little while. New coordinator. New game film. It'll get tighter as the season goes on and you best believe MB will give us a better chance to loosen things up.

I never said we will score 45 every week, what I said was why mess with what is working hell MB3 said the same thing!!

On 4th and 1 Barber should have gotten the first instead of stringing it out wide behind the line of scrimmage, would you have made this thread if he got stopped and turned over the ball? No you wouldnt. If JJ was in there he would have went up the middle and gotten us one yard but not the TD. I am glad Barber scored because that could have been ugly

In the future if the offense is not clicking or JJ looks bad then sure switch em up, but you dont switch things coming off a great offensive performance
