I wish people would stop acting like good running backs fall out of the sky or something because this line of thinking just isn't true. I don't want to overpay Murray but if you can retain a good proven player instead of having to roll the dice come draft day then that's what you do.

if the price is right i would'nt mind extending him. but you really have to get the money right for rb's because they don't last long, they decline very fast and he has an history of injury. i would not give huge money to any rb. including AP, i actually would pay more for mccoy than AP because to me is is more of a weapon

Yep, and the Eagles may end up choking on the contract they're paying McCoy.

Last 2 years have been very different
RBs are not getting paid top bucks

Top backs are making good money, Jamal Charles signed a contract this year that is paying 9 mill so don't give me that BS.
Jamaal Charles signed a 2 year / $18.10 million contract with the Kansas City Chiefs, including $8,300,000 guaranteed, and an annual average salary of $9,050,000

Here is something to consider.

Say Romo regains his mojo. How effective will the offense be with a back who can lead the league behind a line who can create holes and protect a 34 year old QB?

But the fact remains winning football teams build around play makers. This fortune cookie mindset that suggests RB's are a dime a dozen also thinks things like moving corner backs to safety. Make Marinelli the head coach, Garrett really knows how to game manage and other things which make no sense.

Build a team around play makers and the team will win. Shuttle off play makers because they play a position which is not in favor at the moment and the odds of increasing the misery this team routinely suffers increases exponentially.

14 games isn't 16 games.

I'm not a big Emmitt fan but he was out there virtually every game come heck or high water.

Tony D. was the same.

On top of that we've got 2 fumbles in the last 2 games.

Not a big Emmitt fan??? Blasphemy!!!!

Let me set this straight... I think Murray is a good RB... But to overpay him considering his running style and the low-overall value of running backs in the NFL is goofy.

you can choke on a lot of these big contracts. How is that any different? McCoy is a major part of the eagles offense outside the QB he gets more touches than anyone and accounted for 2146 yards and 11 TD you bet he will get paid.

The market dictates worth. He will be paid his worth whether it is with us or someone else who recognizes it.

There's no doubt in my mind that Dallas will offer something fair.

But let someone else overpay for his services if they want.

If you think running game does not matter, I think teams are seeing a new value on running and have been seeing a lot of running thus far in the NFL. It is a copy cat league and 2 top teams in the NFL both are running teams and it can and does win in this league.

Sure he got paid, but it doesn't mean that over the length of the contract that it will represent a fair deal for both sides.

They should wait several games and see how Randle/ Ryan Williams run behind this group. If they run just as well or just about as well, then that will tell you a lot. If they aren't close to what Murray can do, then again, that tells you a lot.

Fine then why pay Dez Bryant?

Sure, and we can watch that team go on to a successful running game while we scramble to find a capable back.
