Oh there is no doubt Jerry is big on loyalty... Almost to a fault.... As much as there is no doubt Dak and his agent fleeced Jerry however at the end of the day, who (in management) signed the contract for Dak to sign? Jerry...... Yes the amount is market value. Dak knew no other team would sign him for that much so he would be a fool not to sign Jerry's contract. It would be either that or not play at all... Me (given Dak's proneness to injury), I wouldn't have re-newed the contract. I would have taken my chances in the draft or free agency.I think there’s something to that, but for the most part, Jerry is big on “loyalty.”
I believe he feels as if he says “hey you’re our guy, no question,” it’ll inspire performance.
And also the guy that thinks that paying a guy more money will make the player, and consequently the team….better.
He also claims that people perform much better with “their back to the wall.”
It’s an all over the place philosophy, and probably all too often he tries to apply things that may work well in the business world toward building and NFL team.
