So we can expect 15 fumbles a game now haha
Nope, not a misprint! Stephen Jones must love him some Tavon Austin.
Edit. Totally need more coffee, I misspelled Stephen Jones. I rock.
you forgot safety returns, are those punts or kickoffs, maybe punt offs. Either way the defense is going to be so dominant they will get two safeties a game....I hope that is mostly punt returns, if he returns more KO's, than we are give up more scoring.
He also holds the title of VP of Player Personnel. He is instrumental in acquiring new players / negotiating contracts. I would think he would have to know exactly how the coaches intend to use a player before actively recruiting or drafting that player. He needs to be able to project the value of the player to the team in order to determine how much to pay the player and for how long.Only the cowboys have their COO talking about playing time, touches, and positions for players. What the hell do we have coaches for.
6 passes and 6 runs? Not impossible.0% chance he averages a dozen touches.
I'm one of the ones who thinks the Apple didn't fall too far from the tree but it's a bit unfair to judge him on a insert or a clip. 12 times a game isn't that outlandish and for as much as he is getting paid he probably should see that much.Yes, things will be so much better when Stephen Jones takes over for Jerry.

I didn't say catch 6 passes. I said be out there for 6 pass plays and 6 run plays. It's not that impossible for me to believe. It would be different if we had a bunch of big names here but he's fighting Gallup, Hurns and Beasley for playing time and he's fighting Rod Smith for run plays. Not entirely impossible.6 passes caught a game translates to 96 catches over a 16 game seasons. There isn't a frog's chance in hell Tavon freaking Austin is catching 96 passes a year. Shoot, I'd be stunned if he even gets near 96 targets for the season.
The only way this guy gets close to a dozen touches a game is if people include returns in the number.
I'm referring to the money he received from the Rams which was 4 million. That's 7 million. If he's a 7 million a year guy I suspect him to be apart of this offense more. I really think guys are sellling him short based on how underachieving he's been and while I don't know what to expect I do think Linehan is going to involve him in this offense.Austin is making $3MM this year. Hardly money that states he needs to get the ball in his hands 12 times a game on offense.

You responded to a guy saying there is 0% chance he gets a "dozen touches", not play for a "dozen plays".
IMO, we inherited a 7 million dollar a year player and he got that based on his sillset and measurables. I expect his presence on this team to be that of a guy getting 7 million a year. What does what the Rams paid him matter? It doesn't.
He's being paid as a backup here. I am not sure how anyone could oversell a guy that has been largely a bust since coming into the NFL. And for the record, when it was rumored the Rams were thinking of dumping him months ago, I said the Cowboys should look at him. But I did that knowing it was a long shot he'd ever come close to being what people thought he might be coming out of college.
Essentially a contract year for him. If he doesn't show it this year....he may never.I've been watching the All or Nothing season with the Rams. He definitely shows some flashes but it's like he just can't seem to put it all together. Maybe a fresh start on a new team will give him a reset on his career.
