Yeah - I wonder if its' because we are aware of all the quotes because we're Cowboy fans or are other team's GM's just as chatty.

They all talk to varying degrees. But sometimes, less information is better.

It is possible to show a player you want them back without out showing them the love via the media.

I guess in the case of McClain you want to keep him engaged any way you can during the offseason...

Because Rolando is cheap and Hardy might not be.

Dallas wants a bargain with Hardy.

Yeah, this isn't hard to figure out here why McClain and his trangressions would play a bit better than Hardy's. The Cowboys can put up with some crap if the guy is making less than $5MM. They won't want to put up with a jokester making $10MM+........

Free agency begins before the draft. By the time the first couple of weeks are over, you better have your ducks in a row.

I think this duck (Ro) will be in formation with a one-year, incentive-based contract offer but if the Cowboys are able to draft a middle LB, Ro is a dead duck.

I am pretty puzzled at his comments about McClain.

He looked fat and disinterested at times in 2015 versus 2014.

There were some plays where he was just horrible in run defense.

I agree. Early on after his suspension, he just wasn't there ... whether because he was out of shape or just took a while to find his rhythm.

I don't mind Dallas resigning him because I believe he showed he can be a force when motivated, but I think the team doesn't need to overinvest in him because he could easily end up being suspended again or lose interest, etc.

McClain can come back for the minimum.

He was a liability last year when he wasn't getting paid.

Hitchens can handle MLB and we might end up with a Jack, Smith or Wright.

I guess we all have our built in biases. I'm all in with RoMc.

If it is a crush that is understandable but we are way past the point of relying on or pointing to his production.

He is nothing more than depth at this point. He looked uninterested and slow last year and singlehandedly took out Lee and Hitchens.

Built-in bias? I was all aboard the McClain train when they brought him in. I gave him the benefit of the doubt. Since he's been here, his play has seen more swings than a playground during recess while also showing no ability to stay healthy and getting suspended for four games. His motor and effort are inconsistent and he's still yet to show he really gives a ****.

I watch the All-22 for every game and I've poured over McClain's tape. His production wouldn't be hard to replace and you could easily find someone who you trust not to sign, get his guaranteed money and bolt.

No thanks.

All signs pointing to Ramsey/Bosa/ or a QB @ 4. I think it's pretty much narrowed down if we re-sign McClain.
