I think Hitch is more than ready to handle the MIKE.

I just don't want to have to count on McClain for a thing. He retired twice, can't stay clean and was already a step slow in coverage.

Finally something we agree on something.

I honestly thought I was the only person who had those two views (want to see Hitchen at Mike, don't want McClain).

It's all good man.

Hitchens best work has come at MIKE imo.

I don't like him as much as the SAM and I think he can cover the middle of the field better than McClain.

I can't count how many times I saw McClain one step slow and knocking the Safety off the play on crossing passes.

As far as Hitchens goes he took a big step backward this season... He didn't look anywhere close to being as physical as he was in '14.

And I wouldn't want him starting.

They tried to put him at SAM and it was a failure. He looks much better in space where he can be a chase down guy. I don't think he represents elite ability or will ever be considered one of the best, but I think he could be a very good Mike/Will, and provide stability at the position for a decade. He needs to be put in a position to succeed though, and SAM just isn't it. For any of our linebackers to really play to their potential, we have to address the DL though. Without a single player commanding double teams, the offense has a free lineman every down. A defense isn't going to win that battle very often unless they're extremely aggressive.

I am actually terrified neither By Jones and Hitchens are going to ever hit their full potential because their versatility makes them too easy to move around, while never settling in. Granted, Jones has significantly more upside than Hitchens, but I think both could be very good pros in the right roles. Defined roles.

For some their entire internet persona is based on "Jerry Jones & co. are incompetent."

Everything no matter what is negative.

Oh we just built a brand new amazing offseason training center with state of the art training and health facilities?

Good thing right? Nope. Jerry building a new monument to himself and making our players lazy and entitled!

I am pretty puzzled at his comments about McClain.

He looked fat and disinterested at times in 2015 versus 2014.

There were some plays where he was just horrible in run defense.

There were some plays Randy White was just horrible also. It happens to the best of the them. The problem with McClain is he is one contact high away from a year long suspension.

I want McClain back too, but they need to whip him into 2014 shape. He's got top tier talent & ability. Can he push himself back into 2014 form? Can the coaching staff get him to that next level?

I agree. Early on after his suspension, he just wasn't there ... whether because he was out of shape or just took a while to find his rhythm.

I don't mind Dallas resigning him because I believe he showed he can be a force when motivated, but I think the team doesn't need to overinvest in him because he could easily end up being suspended again or lose interest, etc.

People seem to forget he was coming off that knee scope. Ro is a guy we cannot afford to lose with the Dline falling apart. We need all kinds of help and he is a player.

I was actually hoping we would bring Derrick Johnson back to his home state but I like that they want to bring him back.

Jack be nimble, Jack be quick, Jack tripped over the candle stick...which caught the foreign rug on his floor on fire...which inflamed the polyester blend pants that he was wearing...thus forcing Jack to stop, drop, and roll.

He literally quit in the Packers playoff game...I was shocked we brought him back in 2015. He must have threatened to burn down JerryWorld...

This is what Stephen should be saying about every player. It serves zero purpose to say anything else.
If we don't want a guy back we at least want someone else to overpay for them.

Last thing we want is one of our guys going for a sweetheart deal to a rival and using "they didn't want me" motivation twice a year.

I hope they resign him.

I watch the games and yes I saw some stinkers... but I also saw many where the guy was pretty solid in the middle.

Just for grins when it comes to linebackers, here's where PFF rates them:

Lee 3 out of 97 (starters) - Just for grins... Kuechly & Barr were #1 & 2.
Mo was 28th.
Hitchens was 69th.

For some other notables:

Jamie Collins was 5th
Hightower was 7th
Burfict 11th
Brandon Marshall 12th
Irvin was 15th
Dansby 25th
Bobby Wagner 30th
Jasper Brinkly 36th
Clay Matthews 40th
Navorrow Bowman 51st
Tulloch 54th (no wonder Detroit was letting him go)
Greeway 61st
Shazier 64th
Bruce Carter 68th
Laurinaitis 83rd (again no wonder the Rams let the guy walk)
Kiko Alonso 91st

No way would I get rid of Mo for Laurinaitis.

Those rankings seem a bit skewed... I would take Navorro Bowman in a millisecond if he'd accept a contract similar to what Ro McClain may get.

Not true... the Manster was always on... I watched that man beat triple team blocking... leave the legends of the past alone... lol

Notice the last 5 years Steven has taken over as the Cowboys spokesperson and Jerry has stepped back.

And I hope they do not re-sign McClain.

I see it as Jerry Jones is still talking and now Stephen Jones is spreading his wings.
