They do not want to trade him for less than two firstsNot true.
That is because Dallas does not want to trade him.

LOL, you don't actually think this, do you? If Jerry thinks a team will give him 2 1's for GP, then he is more demented than we all think. It has been 25 years since this happened......Where did Jerry state this was the case, or are you making this up, and I am wrong? They do not want to trade him for less than two firsts
Buddy Ryan would have punched Jerry in the jawbone for giving him a roster like that.We were 28th the previous year w/ Parsons/Jourdan Lewis/Golston/Kendricks/DLaw.
Parsons would not have changed a thing. That's why it's so sad when I see people blaming Eber. I mean, look at what we lost. And all that from a 28th ranked D.
You wrote a book to agree w/ me that it's about the money.I don’t agree. An agent is contractually obligated to represent the best interests of the player. It is never as simple as top dollar because there are many components of a contract that have a potential impact. If it was simply about top dollar, you could write a contract on the back of a napkin.
Most players don’t simply leave it up to agents. They may leave the actual negotiations up to the agents but there is clarity around the players desires. Some may forgo dollars for a higher guarantee. Some players forgo max dollars because of a preference to play (or not play) for a certain team…and on and on.
There are many other considerations that agents discuss with players. There is a time value of money and receiving big upfront dollars has a value. The speed with which the dollar is being devalued provides some incentive for current vs future monies.
I guarantee you that Pickens and his agent have discussed the possibility that he could be franchised for two years. To not do so would be negligent on the agents part. And for a guy like Pickens who has made something like $9M so far is his career, I guarantee he has also considered the possibility of being franchised vs the guarantee of a contract.
People seem to think it’s all about the highest dollars but it never is. The public sees an average number for a player like $50M for Anderson and think that’s what he will receive. But ultimately it’s about maximizing dollars within the boundaries of priorities for the player. And that doesn’t necessarily mean the max dollars possible without other considerations. From there, they have numerous ways to fluff a contract to outrage Zoners.
Being that we were 28th in 2024, don't know that I believe that. Where'd you get this info from? The previous year on a per play basis the Cowboys were the best defense in the league when Parsons was on the field and the worst defense when he was off the field so Parsons literally could have single-handedly changed things.
The tag is the set price. It isn't ambiguousLOL, you don't actually think this, do you? If Jerry thinks a team will give him 2 1's for GP, then he is more demented than we all think. The tag isn’t the set price and you know this. The cowboys can take less is they want to.The tag is the set price. It isn't ambiguous
Which is stupid, because there's no way we'll get that. They do not want to trade him for less than two firsts

It is quite literally the price to acquire Pickens lol.The tag isn’t the set price and you know this. The cowboys can take less is they want to.
Then why did you disagree from the beginning without asking any questions? You just like to argue? You wrote a book to agree w/ me that it's about the money.
It is about the highest guarantee. Blatantly obvious. I mean, where ya been?
I will take Kiper over Smith anytime. At least Kiper can give a little bit of reasoning why he likes player a over player b.I’m not sure there are two NFL talking heads I value less than Stephen A and Kiper.
Ones a know nothing blowhard and the other should have hung it up a decade ago
Who said I am talking about the tag, I replied to you, mentioning Jerry will take nothing less than 2 1st rd picks for him...that is an utterly ridiculous statementThe tag is the set price. It isn't ambiguous
I really hope someone helps you if you ever buy a new car or even if you ever have. The dealer would have your pants around your ankles if you went alone. It is quite literally the price to acquire Pickens lol.
Dallas might negotiate, but that's the stated price

"Not wanted and appreciated" would have been not tagging him and letting him walk in free agency....He did not have a choice regarding playing for Pittsburgh or Dallas. The Cowboys have already stepped up to make CeeDee feel “wanted and appreciated”. Lord knows they made Dak feel that way.
They franchise tagged Pickens. That’s not wanted and appreciated. The Steelers are a better team on the field than the Cowboys with and without George Pickens. At this point he has to be wondering how he can get to the Rams, or Niners, or even Ravens. And away from teams like Dallas and Pittsburgh and their somewhat less than bold ownership.
I see I misquoted it. That stat was for his career not specifically last season.
You’re assuming Schottenheimer isn’t a poor head coach.Throw last year out the window, Micah or not, because of Eberflus. That guy couldn't coach a pile of manure to smell bad.
What have you seen that would lead you to believe he’s a poor coach? You’re assuming Schottenheimer isn’t a poor head coach.
