I don’t remember hearing any bad things about Parsons. Many felt he was the best defensive player in the draft. At least two or three of the talking heads were picking him for defensive rookie of the year before training camp ever started. The reviews on Tyler Smith have been pretty mixed. Some have even gone as far as to say he was a reach. Saw some film of him grabbing and grabbing. I try not to get caught up with everyone’s opinions but I remember the opinions on Taco were pretty mixed. Not saying he’s going to end up a bad pick like Taco but we’ll just have to see. The penalties he had in college are concerning. The first thing Kiper said about him was he was a penalty waiting to happen. Granted everyone has an opinion we’ll find out this summer what he brings.
Your memory is very faulty in that case.
Try googling "micah parsons will be a bust"
And if you just re-wind these thread a year he was the LEAST liked pick for Dallas as no one in Dallas wanted to see an off-ball after Jaylon/LVE.
Micah had set out a full COVID year, had an off-field concern over a teammate fight, spent two years at PSU learning to play LB after being a HS DE.
Tyler Smith was flat terrorizing DEs at Gof5 and when they played P5 opponents.
He is just too raw to walk in playing LT.
But that is a perfect fit in Dallas because the day 1 need is LG and like La'el Collins the fastest way to get on the field for a big ole OL is Guard.
At same time you have a ceiling there to make drafting an LG feel better in Round 1.
Hard to argue imo Dallas could have done better for themselves with that pick.
