Meaning I don't have a dog in the fight, do not understand why any of you are passionate about it to the point you point fingers at each other in these threads.

Normally I laugh at nyc going after Jobs...cause I don't care one way or the other.

I love my iPhone and iPad...but don't care if other people use other things...seems weird to get upset about it.

I just thought his comment this time was over the top as it seems that Jobs is resigning cause he's probably going to die.

I don't know what you mean by unaffected...but if it wasn't for Gates, Jobs or anyone else...you wouldn't be on the internet right now.
Not necessarily, they just wouldn't have been named Gates or Jobs.

My only interest in Apple is their desktop computers. I've owned a few and worked on an uncountable number of Macs. Some were solid, some were rage inducing duds. To this point they've all culminated in this:

Best machine I've ever laid my hands on. Good luck Steve, don't let them ruin this gem.

I threw in the anyone else like he said.

There were/are obviously more people involved than those two.

You're right. I know why people would jump up in arms, but the reason they do it is an emotional reaction. Either way, it doesn't make the statement untrue. People just don't like the association. Most serial killers are white. Bet there are a lot of people that don't like that association either, but it doesn't make it untrue and it also doesn't make all white people serial killers.
Ummm, you're the person who made the association. You know full well the emotional reaction you were trying to get, and you got it. Don't act like you didn't know what you were doing. It's not the audience's fault they got emotional, it's the writer's.

Steve Jobs makes the association true as defined by the definition. I just referenced it. You have a diesel mechanic and an jet engine mechanic. Completely different types of the same thing. Mechanics. Yet (unless trained) neither can do each others job properly.

Question: Why do you think I am acting like I didn't know what I was doing? When did I lay blame? I only pointed out that it *IS* in fact an emotional reaction.

No grandstanding, only soapboxing. Now move along.

Umm what? You do know he lead Apple before right? He then left and the company tanked. You conveniently forget all of that history? ;)

You might have only been about 3 yrs old. I dont know.

lolwat?

For a guy that acts like he knows everything you really don't know squat.

Case in point: wifi-triangulation.

Now this assertion. You do realize that the companies are no where near the same since the first time he left, correct?

Not even the same ballpark...

I'm not discussing the definition of the word "dictator." I don't know enough about Jobs or Apple to make a determination as to whether he's a "dictator." I'm only saying you knew exactly what association you were making when you stated those names. Your definition of "dictator" would probably allow you to call any number of people "dictators." You chose to reference probably the two most infamous and hated dictators in recent history, and you did it for the purpose of getting an emotional reaction.

Question: Why do you think I am acting like I didn't know what I was doing? When did I lay blame? I only pointed out that it *IS* in fact an emotional reaction.
You pointed out that it is an emotional reaction in order to marginalize the reaction. The problem is that it's your fault that you got that reaction. You shouldn't marginalize that reaction, or the people who had the reaction, when you caused it.

Umm. No.

You've been around here long enough to know I don't roll like that.

I don't sit around and make notes of all of your posts and whether you make a habit of doing it or not. All I know is that you're doing it in this thread.

For a guy who dances around everything, my fact remains to be true. When Jobs walked away from Apple it tanked. Your saying that didn't happen?

I could care less if they are diff companies today. My point was that it did happen.

wi-fi triangulation? Do you REALLY want to get into that debate when there is NO WAY you or I could use that technology today?

"Hey Catch, you should turn on your Wi-Fi Triangulation App..wait..Oh..yeah that isn't available yet...but hey it's possible in like 10 years if everyone would get on board with it." See how silly I just sounded by throwing that solution up on the screen?

Are you that dense? You spun it like it was freely available and incorporated into every device and was being used world wide, when NOTHING is even close to that fact.

How about you come with some REAL world answers instead of the whole hot-plate approach?

Before closing. The fact that Jobs is leaving Apple is BAD. I can't help it if you bury your head in the sand and have your hopes and dreams. Your a ginormous fanboy, that is obvios, but that aside, my points still remain valid.

The fact of the matter is it's bad he left the company, which was the WHOLE point all along.

Thanks for playing.

I really have no bias for or against Apple, as I don't own even a single Apple product (that might change when the IPad 3 comes out), but Jobs is a freakkin' genius at what he does. I don't know how anyone could think otherwise.
