Come on.
Bill took an awul team and made them playoff contenders immediately and he never had a QB until his last season.
Garrett would've been Campo quality or worse with some of those teams Bill had.
Ans still no NFCCG or SB appearances.
Why wouldn't they? They could spend their first 3-4 years getting paid and not going to all of those brain bending sports management classes and still have the opportunity for the NFL.If the XFL starts making it big, hence starts paying their players pretty good and allows very good players to jump over to the NFL a few years down the road, I'm pretty sure many high school graduates will take that road $$$$.
Yep.
TCU may have had a good record but they still are nothing compared to Oklahoma.
This isn't the NFL. The talent gap is much wider between OU and TCU.
OU beating TCU is nothing more then them taking care of business because TCU doesn't have near the resources as OU. In fact I applaud their coach more then I do Stoops for doing so much with less talent.
Stoops had it easy after the very early 2000's. He built it and got fat and happy.
Stoops biggest mistake was nepotism. He replaced his DC, who ended up at Clemson, with his brother.Stoops was a defensive coach that always had terrible defenses and relied on his offenses, weak schedule, superior talent, and homefield advantage to create the mirage that he was a good coach.
The game passed him by quick and he became a dime a dozen coach that was good at keeping the status quo.
Hard to go wrong with AP, Demarco Murray, and Bradford, among others.Yep.

TCU finished #3 in the national rankings the year before, and you are telling me they were a sub par program when they finished #7 in 2015?
And, again, how big do you think the talent gap was in the SEC between the #1 team and #2 team? Do you really think Ole Miss measured up to Alabama?
LMAO, like Saban, Fisher, Swinney and Smart is on his way. That is the goal, to get fat and happy and build a recruiting juggernaut that is perpetuating.Yep.

Gary Patterson is an excellent coach and as good as there is in getting the most out of his team. Mike Gundy, OSU, is good as well and a WR wunderkind. You're really making me want to hire this TCU coach.
He doesn't seem as talent dependent as Stoops.

What I don't get is how does Saban even lose a game? The largest coaching staff in all of college football and nothing but 4 and 5 stars sitting on the bench, the most in the game.
Back when Prescott had Miss State high in the rankings and they were playing Bama, they showed two players on the sideline, neither one Prescott, and said these are Miss St's only 4 star recruits. They did not show the only two players on Bama's sideline that were not at least 4 stars. Success begets success in college, which is why many of the college coaches do not transition to the NFL very well.
NCAA will not lose their grip on football. XFL is a fringe league. NCAA will evolve if needed because it’s a cash cow. Yes, there will be some young kids take the route you mentioned, but college football is a pageantry, it’s not going anywhere. If the XFL starts making it big, hence starts paying their players pretty good and allows very good players to jump over to the NFL a few years down the road, I'm pretty sure many high school graduates will take that road $$$$.
If the XFL makes a hit with viewers on Saturdays, it is going to run College 1A football out of business.

I agree. Most of the kids going directly to the XFL will be those who aren't college material. They usually try to make it in junior college, but there are some who aren't junior college material either. They can use the XFL as a more direct route to the NFL.
lol we were lucky to make the playoffs with those rosters.
What Bill did should be applauded.
He gave this team a foundation and direction.
Then they will have to start paying the athletes and if the XFL has deep enough pockets, there are a lot of kids that need money for their families that will jump at that. However, if they want to pull any marquis NFL players, they will have to have personal services contracts like Herschel Walker had.NCAA will not lose their grip on football. XFL is a fringe league. He put it here because of the link from the Cowboys to Stoops for years. Most in OK expected him to go to the Cowboys when he left OU.XFL Stoops NOT NFL - Cowboys wrong place to post..you in luv with OK ? IDC really..
you mean the hype that never was true, how does that fit here?now its te other OK coach.. this isnt about playing 6 degrees to the Cowboys page..this has zero to do with the NFL or the Cowboys belongs over in News or dramaHe put it here because of the link from the Cowboys to Stoops for years.
