Straw Poll: Right now...Do you want Romo?

I hear you Hos. However, that was preseason. The same preseason that people use to discredit any progress that Romo seems to have made over the last year.

The bottom line is that Drew's short comings have been well documented even before he became a Cowboy. Every year it's the same thing with this guy. We played a poor game today but the Eagles gave us a chance to steal it like they did with the Giants earlier this year. The Giants and Eli took the candy from the baby. The Cowboys and Drew gave it back.
Yes, they have and I am firmly in the camp that Bledsoe will cost us games. In fact, I like Romo better than him, but I have no evidence he's ready to do anythign more than he's already doing. If I had that evidence I'd change my mind.

Its clear we will never get to where we want to go w/ this bum at QB!!!...Can you imagine him at soldier field in 10 degree weather getting the **** blitzed out of him by the Bears in the playoffs??.....Would be ugly

He starts falling down before the defenders even touch him!.....Unreal

Biggest buzzkill I've ever seen watching Cowboy games for 20 yrs...

You're the king of changing the subject to suit your argument. It gets pretty annoying.
Waaaaaaah.

No evidence huh? I thought so.

Bledsoe is a pretty decent quarterback. His underthrow today with no pressure may have been a result of being pummelled all day, but it is doubtful that Dallas can win another high pressure game like this one with him at the helm...

I think changing quarterbacks pretty much guarantees that you're not going to make it deep into the playoffs the year you switch. Drafting for a new quarterback is a 2 to 3 year project before good results are seen. There's virtually no chance to get a premier quarterback unless you trade away multiple players and first round draft picks.

Romo is not good enough right now to take the Boys deep into the playoffs. But he might be in a year, Dallas really doesn't know what they have with him.

Today Dallas has great players all through the defense, including backups. The offense has good and great weapons at their disposal. Winning now is good, but learning now with Romo can be great later on.
Since Bledsoe is a younger version of Testaverde in my mind, I say Romo should get the nod sooner rather than later. I really can't stand how long he holds on to the ball. He's asking for a sack with that.

Take a gamble on the future, because the present gives only a slight chance to be a real contender in the playoffs.

Once you make the move you cannot go back. At 2-2 I am not ready to take a CHANCE and HOPE it works out.
That's exactly how I feel too. It's not like we are the Cardinals or the Titans.

Geez. Why don't you cut out the personal attacks? You still haven't given a single reason that Bledsoe should keep the starting job. I'm still waiting for it. You've been asked several times. You can't do it because you're simply going off your agenda.

Hey Hos my dad always said, "Never get into a battle of wits with an unarmed man."

What logic? That a guy who has never thrown an NFL pass is our best option?

Using this line of thinking, many, many great QBs over the years would have never had a chance to be great. Everyone has to start somewhere.

I think it's become fairly obvious that this team would have to play lights out every week this year to make the playoffs under Bledsoe, so why not take a chance on an unknown variable? Especially in a game we would have to try and throw away intetionally to lose?

Bottom line, we have no Super Bowl caliber QB on this team starting right now, are we are a million miles away from a Super Bowl OLine and Defense.

Its Time To Start Romo.

It Would Be A Smart Move To Let Him Gain Some Experience Againgst That Weak Texans Defense.

I Always Defended Bledsoe. But No More, I Wash My Hands Of Him

How many great qb's as you put it started for a playoff capable team. Most qb's get thrown into the fire because the team itself has hit rock bottom and they know that they do not thave the personnel to win more than 8 games.

No. I think our defense can get us to the playoffs if our OL can keep either QB upright so he can utilize our weapons. Today, the Eagles beat that forumla. I tip my hat to them.

Just curious, Hostile. Exactly what, if anything, could Romo do to make you think he had "proved" his right to play? Anything ? Or is that just a handy rhetorical excuse?

Even more reason to put Romo in. He has the personnel around him to succeed.

Please Parcells please, don't be so stubborn.

All the more reason to start Romo. He has all the tools to be a successful QB.

I picked Romo for one reason. We know what we have in Bledsoe, and quite frankly, it isn't enough. If we're gonna throw away games, let's do it at the expense of moving on rather than hanging on.

Here's some logic for you.

Premise:
1. Romo could not be worse than Bledsoe (though he could potentially be better).
2. Bledsoe can't get us to the playoffs.

Conclusion:
Start Romo.
I just don't see how that is a given fact. There is no evidence to support that. In fact I've seen QBs play worse than Bledsoe did today and any QB is capable of a bad day.
