Yeah, tapout to triangle choke.

Technically, he tapped to the arm bar. When Werdum pushed his hips up and extended Fedor's arm back, almost immediately Fedor tapped as he either had that choice, or a broken arm.

Not that it really matters, a loss is a loss, is a loss. But I'm all technical like that. :D

On another note - Fedor is one interesting person. You could not tell after the fight he had lost, at all. His demeanor in a loss is the same as a win. Little to no reaction at all. It's almost scary how he shows literally no emotion when he is in that cage, good or bad.

Pretty sure that's the exact opposite of being an interesting person.

I hear his response to why he got caught is because he was focusing on standup. Isn't that kind of a cop out? He was focusing on standup so he lost all submission defense?

Everyone in mma has excuses when they lose.

It's the soccer flop of mma.

No, that is actually defines an interesting person, because it is so rare. How can someone show little to no emotion, regardless of situation?

It's like when Kevin Randleman dropped the guy on his head. Most folks would either be KTFO'd, or panic in that situation. Instead, Fedor keeps that stone face on, proceeds to get on top of Kevin in the next 30 seconds, and submit him.

Who in the heck remains that calm and that relaxed so easily? Why is he like that? How does he stay like that?

Now if you want to talk solely about Fedor's lack of personality and charisma in interviews ..

Apparently he's not like that at all, i remember seeing some interviews with Josh Barnett from the Pride days talking about when they got drunk on Fedors vodka and showed up drunk to their press conference. In numerous interviews Barnett has said that Fedor is a clown always joking around behind the scenes

I think you're kind of answering your own question. He's able to stay that way in fights because that's just the way he is in life. Stoic would probably be the most flattering way of putting it.

You ever drank some Russian vodka? That will bring out a funky side in anyone. :D

Not really, because entering the cage with tens of thousands fans cheering, in front of millions of fans watching, and an insane amount of testosterone flowing through your veins should bring out the animal in anyone. Just naturally, you should be able to convert into somewhat of a ruthless animal showing some type of emotion.

Fighting under not normal circumstances should cause a different reaction than normal life would. Instead, Fedor is just the same throughout it all.

M1 won't be able to sell his fights for anywhere close to what they did, if Fedor wants to keep fighting now he's probably better off financially signing with the UFC. M1 is done, all they had was the winning streak and that's gone now

That's what I said, he's boring. :laugh2:

Fedor isn't even remotely close to being the only fighter to remain stoic in the ring.

If Fedor ever got the balls to fight Lesnar he would get bombed

First real loss in 10 years and all of a sudden he's got more to prove then Mr 4 wins? :laugh2:

You can't submit someone with roid limbs, Brocks arms are as wide as they are long, he'd be in big trouble if he was ever in the situation Werdum was after being knocked down, add to that the fact the Brock ain't worth a crap standing up and i just don't see it

I hate to sound like the random girl in the room watching MMA for the first time, but-

Brock could just tackle his *** and pound on him.

I trust his gorilla instincts more than Fedor setting something up

So where does this loss rank next to Tyson and Buster Douglas?

This is one of the biggest upsets in sports history and nobody is talking about it.

Fedor really let himself get beat. He escaped and then put himself right back in it.

yeah, I remember that but I don't remember him getting hurt by Couture.

Cause it didn't actually happen.

Rampage;3444269 said:
why should Dana and the UFC co-promote with M1 who only has 1 fighter(Fedor) that anybody has ever heard of?

Exactly. There is absolutely no reason a business man, with a successful company would ever just hand over half the promotion of it to some people who put absolutely nothing into the building of the company just so that they could get 1 fighter from them.

Ren;3444401 said:
Rookie mistake, that's the end of M-1. Good luck trying to sell Fedor fights now

Thank God. Now maybe we'll see some of the fights the world would have rather seen anyway.

I mean even if you hate UFC don't you think fights with Lesnar, Carwin, and Couture would be bigger draws and more interesting match ups than one with Werdum?

He damn near put him self in it too, real amateurish

Surprising for sure.

Possibly so. Unfortunately now we may never know cause unless he completely leaves M-1 there is no chance he'll be in UFC to find out. Even with losing his streak they'll still continue to try and pull that junk, most likely.

Of course I've heard a few people question if he'll retire now after this which would suck even worse, IMO.

NSIAP, but ..

http://www.sherdog.com/news/news/M-1-UFC-Trying-to-Ruin-Fedors-Sponsorships-25329

M-1 Global says that Tapout withdrew a potential seven-figure, one-year sponsorship deal with Fedor Emelianenko earlier this week after the UFC told the clothing company to dump the fighter or lose access to UFC events.

Emelianenko, who meets Fabricio Werdum on Saturday at the Strikeforce/M-1 Global card in San Jose, Calif., was to have worn a specially designed Tapout T-shirt during his fight entrance, according to M-1. The Holland-based management group said the shirt went on pre-sale briefly this week before it was abruptly pulled from Tapout’s Web site.

“It was our understanding that the T-shirt was in production,” M-1 Global President Vadim Finkelchstein told Sherdog.com on Friday through an interpreter. “However, at the beginning of this week, we were told by our sponsorship representative that Tapout had received a call from (UFC President) Dana (White), which involved him saying that if Fedor signs a T-shirt deal with Tapout, then Tapout would be out of the UFC.”

Phone and e-mail requests for comment sent to Tapout on Friday were not initially returned. The UFC said it would not comment on the matter.
