Can anyone explain why regular unleaded is about $1.25 per cheaper per gallon that premium. I understand the cracking process, but the difference in price is much great now than in the past. Or maybe it was always the same as a percentage and gas is just so expensive now?The average American family spent about $2,200 in 2023 for gasoline, representing 4-5% of household income.
