I don't like the Ben Johnson stuff at all. Reminds me of belicheck coaches leaving from under him. That's Dan Campbell's kitchen

Is Ben strong enough to stand up to Jerry’s circus?

I have no idea if he’s strong enough and I’m not sure standing up to Jerry will ever be a thing because he’s the guy signing the checks and making the football decisions.

I think I’d look for a guy who is crafty in how he manages the relationship with Jerry and his ego while also being able to sell Jerry on what’s needed to be successful. Is Ben that? I don’t know, but he seems to be a brilliant minded guy with how he runs his offense.

Also if not Robert Saleh, I’d look to promote Al Harris if he’s ready.

Probably, but don’t count Primetime out. That’s just the kind of circus move Jerry lives and would guarantee outsized media coverage. Plus, it would most likely bring Dak’s successor here. In fact, should that come to fruition, I could see Dak being benched and then asking for a trade. Dak’s agent doesn’t strike me as the football is a meritocracy kind of guy.
And Jerry has never struck me as the ‘admit that I made a mistake’ kind of guy who would bench a quarter-of-a-billion-dollar-quarterback.

Sadly I am starting to feel like this is going to happen. We are basically doomed. The only chance would be if he came with a staff full of young energetic coordinators who could somehow cut through the foolishness and inspire the team. Alas that will never happen and our "stars" care about one thing and one thing alone and it isn't winning football games.
The one thing that I am optimistic about is that Belichick would coach up the fundamentals that have been lacking for years. Thats it.

Miami tried to deal Flores a horrible hand when he was the interm...he kept winning regardless...I'll take him over BB

Snaps in Dallas are determined by Jerry. Paying attention to the coaches and learning fundamentals is not required. Our coaches are trying to teach these guys. They are not interested. I used to teach statistics at a community college where he students were on a free ride. I am not saying I was a good teacher or a bad teacher but I can say for sure it wouldn't matter.

I agree. But Jerry could sell Primetime/Shadeur as a chance of a lifetime. Think how he thought and sold the Lance trade. By the way, I was fine with that trade. It didn’t work, but there are no guarantees ever.

After you get past the first 5 the list gets really crazy.... Why is Dan Quinn even on this list? he already has the most successful Washington season in over a decade, and he is in his first year under contract.... whoever puts money on that, you could have given me half and not bet it and still come out ahead.

I was fine with that trade up until the point where they prematurely signed Dak to this awful new deal. That rendered the trade a total failure.

Campbell is for sure the unquestioned leader of that franchise, but that’s not his offensive design. Campbell has never called plays or even been an OC. And if anything Johnson being around Campbell and seeing what it takes to rebuild a winning culture should be viewed as a positive

With all that said, Johnson will have several options for HC jobs this off-season and it’s highly unlikely the Cowboys will be the most attractive option for him.
