Oh I think Big Mike is a dead man walking.

But he’s hustled a nice retirement package for himself.
Yea ....he's coaching other vacancies next year. I mean you never know, three 12-5 seasons ..........

I think he’d be a LOT like Parcells. The team would be fundamentally sound, but the game has/had passed by both coaches.
Best case is maybe you get a Bochy-type Rangers run early on, but there’s a lot of hope in that and we’d need more substance to make that viable.

I still find it very hard to believe that a guy like Belechick, who has had almost complete control of everything from the draft to locker room to talking to the press, is somehow going to be ok with helicopter landings and tourists doing the zoo tours.

Maybe JJ gives up some things but I seriously doubt that at 82 he will change. Hope I’m wrong.

I wouldn't mind a Vrabel at HC and the current HC at Cleveland, Stefanski as OC. Of course Stefanski would hafta be fired first, so there's that.

But I'll bet Jerry hires him some Kellen Moore. That would be Jerry's version of Garrett part II and fulfill Jerry's ego while getting another puppet to control at the same time.

That's my bet.
I love past Belicheck but current Belicheck is washed.
Post Brady Belicheck ain't the answer.
I can live with this ........read a few nuggets that Stefanski is a top shelve play-caller

No problem with the disagreement. It’s just a gut feeling.

It feels like a repeat of the Parcells era.

In desperation, Jerry cedes a measure of profile and control, as does Belichick.
I’d like to think so, but I’m not so sure he is quite at that point. Would be nice to hope so. Really would.

Remember he just recently told us how great he is and no one could do better. The Parcells thing was about public support/funding for his almighty stayjum.

I don’t think Jerry will ever give anyone the chance to prove that he was the problem all along. Stephen on the other hand may do something like that, but will unfortunately still hold the checkbook.

Can’t begin to explain how much I wish we were discussing Cowboys football in a different light, but one man’s ego won’t allow it.

I was around this forum’s predecessor back in 02 when there were rumbling about adding a coach like Parcells. A lot swore up and down it wouldn’t happen.

Then it did.

Belichick won't come here unless Jerry gives him complete authority over coaches and players .........in writing.

It did but remember one of the big reasons it did was Jerry needed to get his stayjum approved and he knew he needed fan support. He was very tied up with stadium issues from 2003-5 but started butting in on Parcells authority with the TO signing and eventually made Big Bill just say goodbye.

But no one was saying that about the stadium back in 2002. There may be other reasons Jerry could go in this direction and because I’ve seen him do it once before I’m inclined to think he might do it again.

The job he did going to the playoffs with 4 different QBs last year impressed me. Especially with an older immobile Flacco.

But nothing to write home about this year with Watson and now Winston, but I like that he proved himself in the past by winning with different QBs.

It could probably go either way, I have no idea at this point.

I just see a lot of parallels to Parcells.

Nobody thought that could ever happen either.

My money is on Belichick. One last stab at relevance for both ownership and head coach.
I agree. Jerry would have more respect for bill. Bill will install some discipline. I’d prefer a johnson or Flores but Jerry wouldn’t do that because Jerry is more interested in trying to look smart than build a winning team

That may be the final straw for me if they hire that dinosaur
I think everyone would prefer someone like Johnson. But if the options Jerry would consider I think bill is a good option. He will install some discipline. Jerry will respect him more than most. He wouldn’t be my first choice but of the guys Jerry would consider I think he is best option
