Sturm Debunks Dak and Dunk

ESPN's splits are still a game behind, but these are attempts of 10 yards or less as a percentage of total attempts.

73.3% Brees 396 of 540
72.7% Stafford 339 of 466
71.1% Brady 233 of 328
69.7% Rodgers 348 of 499
68.1% Luck 304 of 447
67.9% Ryan 300 of 442
67.9% Cousins 347 of 511
66.7% Prescott 262 of 393
65.7% Rthsbrgr 289 of 440
65.4% Carr 325 of 497

Well for starters Brady has 4 less games played and already has more passing TD. He also has more passes downfield.

A rate of increase of 30% is humongous.
What in the world does that have to do with my point?

I'm at total peace with myself. My blood pressure is beyond normal, and now that we have a new QB, I'm happy with the direction of the team now. I only want to win a Super Bowl, I'll let guys like you cry about guys like me.

I'm just trying to help you, bro. If a football team causes you permanent health issues (i.e. High blood pressure), you might want to consider taking up a different hobby.

Just an observation. What you do with it is entirely up to you.

You do realize is ypa.......yards per attempt which means how far the ball went before it was caught. Has nothing to do with how many yards total after the catch
I don't think so.

Some sites do track "Air Yards" and "YAC" which added together make up total yards which is what YPA is based on.

Tom Brady dictates everything. Dak just dumps off to the safe receiver. There is a huge difference if you understand football, buddy.

Capping off your sentences with buddy. Feeling passive aggressive are we?

I remember that play. Dak almost got sacked and threw it up for Dez in single coverage and Dez bobbled it and almost dropped it. I thought he was going to fall down. But he hung on for the TD.

Just saying.

If you are going to play this game then you need to do it for all QBs. "What could have been" is great for making yourself feel better but all QBs experience drops and penalties.

That is not to say that in total it cannot have a significant effect but pulling your favorite anecdotes is not compelling.

You must be, because not a single person has complained about being 12-2. And nobody has "complained" about the QB either. Criticism or the belief that there are better options is not complaining.

It is. When you think there is a better option at 12-2 then you are what they call complaining. Especially coming off a great game. I love how people on this board know more than Danny White and the dozens of NFLers who are saying Dak deserves to play. My comment was to someone saying he wasn't impressive. So called football Minds are laughable

So what stopped us the first two drives right down the field? Alleged dinking and dunking or penalties? If there is a different answer than penalties you're dense

Please elaborate...

Tom Brady destroys you. He decides how he will destroy you. He toys with you. He laughs while he does it.

Dak does whatever is the lowest risk possible.

And that's fine for a rookie. But to compare him to Brady in style is laughable. That's like comparing Zeke to Joseph Randle.

One touchdown drive against Minnesota.

One touchdown drive against the Giants.

One touchdown drive against Tampa.

Enjoy your empty, meaningless stats. Or go learn football. Your choice.

Care to compare resumes and education?

12-2 and one of the highest in the league in AYPA.

Nuff said.

I've had high blood pressure since mid 30s do to weight gain from my football injury that happened when I was 27 that caused me not to be able to exercise anymore, but thanks for your diagnosis. I was in my mid twenties the last time we won a Super Bowl, I miss those days. I was hoping to win a Super Bowl between my mid 30s and now, but we had Romo there to ruin that, so now hopefully we can win a Super bowl in the near future with Dak Prescott. If not, we try again. No harm.

You clearly don't watch Dak pre-snap.

He changes a route every once in a while, or kills to a run play. He doesn't set protections or identify blitzers. Romo can literally design an entire play at the line of scrimmage. Very few can do that.

If Drew Brees makes the Hall of Fame, I'm going to organize a riot.

Rushing TDs, especially of the short variety, for a QB are about as irrelevant as can be. The average QB will just hand off to the league's leading rusher and be done with. Frankly it's more notable for being a fantasy irritant for Zeke owners than anything. I sure wouldn't trade a receiver who could actually throw a football in tight spots for a dink and dunk bus driver who could run a few in from an already advantageous spot. That's for sure.

TD are not irrelative rushing or passing they count the same it is TD that help you win games. What a joke to make such a claim. The object is to put the ball in the endzone. Dak is 2nd only to Tom Brady in TD to Int ratio. I don't care about gaudy stats what I care about is putting up points and avoiding turnovers that can get you beat. You talk about tight windows? who the hell cares Dak has faced top defenses and has helped his team win. I love Romo but he is not the QB of this team and the sooner people can get that through their heads the better off this board will be. Dak Prescott like it or not is the starting QB of the Dallas Cowboys he has heled this team to a 12-2 record and closing in on sealing a 1st rd bye as the #1 seed those are hardcore facts. Claiming what Romo may or may not do if put in the game is speculation not a fact

You want no part of that, I assure you.

That offensive line, Zeke, and Rod Marinelli is 12-2. Dak is doing a nice job. But Wentz could do the same here.

Exactly. Dak makes smart logical plays that keep the chains moving. It's the same thing Tom Brady does (no I'm not saying Dak is Brady). Brady's game is about making smart, seemingly non-flashy plays. Over and over. And not making mistakes on risky ones. That's the same way Dak plays.

Brady is a heck of a lot better in the accuracy department throwing into windows and throwing receivers open. He is better at anticipating throws. He is better at the downfield throw as well.

You can characterize them the same by handwaving at the pick totals and acting like it came about the same way if it makes you feel better.

You do realize you have absolutely no clue what you're talking about, don't you?

YPA is just passing yards divided by pass attempts. If you throw 8 passes and gain 64 yards on those plays, you're averaging 8.0 yards per attempt.

Passing yardage includes both yards before the catch ("air yards") and YAC -- whether you're counting attempts or not.

That still has nothing to do with my point, and I specifically said Dak isn't Brady. My point was they both make smart, non flashy decision/plays on the field to keep moving the chains, and that smart non-flashy play doesn't make someone a bus driver.
