i didnt get to watch the whole game, but from what i saw the skins defense was playing with very high intensity. A lot of hard hitting early on.

Congrats on the win...must be a great feeling to sweep the boys.

Indeed it is, BP.

But trust me, any honest Commanders fan is as surprised this morning as you guys are.

I expected the usual nailbiter these games generally turn out to be. Sometimes stuff just happens. We had our ***? game up in NY earlier this year. You happened to have yours yesterday.

Just glad we've decided to make things interesting again. :)

For what its worth...good game...not here to troll.

Looks like the Skins were ready and Dallas was overwhelmed. For those of u bashing Parcells....come on. Respectfully you hate us and we hate u but dont trash Parcells. He is a very good coach and for those calling for his head are making a knee jerk comment that is absurd. Look I hate Dallas but I respect Parcells and what he is capable of.

Honestly I think that the Skins were so jacked and the fans were nuts that we may have beaten any team in the league on that given day (yesterday of course). It just wasnt Dallas' day. U have some of those (like when you guys waxed us 27-0). I think that the Chiefs win actually helped us because the Cowboys werent nearly as hungry. We nearly overlooked Arizona toward u guys and it showed. I think on this day the Commanders wanted this game much more....the talent issue is debateble but the want/will to win was evident.

Our defense is what got us the win. The D was stifling and our Offense just minimized all mistakes for the most part.

Well respectfully you guys have had our # before this year so the sweep does feel good. Its good to see the rivalry come back this year on two completely opposite types of games. I despise the Cowboys but its a respectful despise because you guys are the arch enemy...have been and will continue to be.

I honestly think you guys will go to Carolina and pull one out. (even though Im rooting against it :) .

Pull your heads up and atleast its just ONE game. (like Parcells noted). Skins fans have suffered enough of these so we know your pain believe it or not.

Until next time HTTR.

there may be some "new" people to the "get rid of parcells" bandwagon, but many of us have seen this coming for awhile, but talking about it usually gets you in trouble.

after the thrashing we took, i know i for one appreciate your coming here and being polite about it - tough losses in a tough season are hard enough to take w/o the crazy rantings of opposing team fans who only seem to live for the moment and can't see the long term picture. when i step back and see "long term" coupled with what i've seen parcells do, what i see is pretty simple.

he's built this team to WIN NOW and it's not getting done. i do hear talk of people saying "in 2 years we can fix the line and dominate!" well, parcells has had 3 years to fix the line and we're arguably worse than when he started as his replacements have not been a good as those they replaced.

peterman and rogers for example - 2nd and 3rd round pick we're not getting a damn thing out of and one is already out the door. al johnson - another high round pick who while playing, isn't playing "well". then his FA high $ player is another over the hill "name" we're gonna have to take it up the * for when this year is over, or keep him around and watch him lead people back to our qb again.

long term this team is a HUGE question mark. i've heard people say parcells *is* building for long term but i don't see it - especially at our top position - qb. all i see (right or wrong) is an old coach who will *only* give his former players a chance and for whatever reason puts players behind him that in his own words, are NOT ready to play.

we've passed on collins, griese, mcmahon and a host of others for even a backup spot - why? it's not cap money, we've got it. collins maybe because he wanted to start. griese? many may not like him but he's got more "game" experience in 1 series (even a 3 and out) than our other qb's put together, save 1/2 of a game last year for thanksgiving.

of which hensen was not even allowed to do what all players usually can - adjust and finish the game. why?

best chance to win.

when parcells got here his own mantra was "I don't have time to build up" - so he didn't. that alone puts this team into a "win now" state and as i've said starting 1/2 way through last year - i hate that approach.

"win now" is like putting all your $ on 1 number and spinning the wheel. while it can work, odds are you just spend all your $ and never realized success. we're on that path now and it frankly frustrates the HELL out of a lot of us. we see it, but if we bring it up and talk about it, we're not fans.

we're just picking a fight. we're not rooting for the home team.

well, we're doing all of that but we just know the futility of the efforts, which makes the "cheerleading" even more annoying than the "doom and gloom" we get to be accused of.

it's painfully obvious that our biggest problem is flat out our offensive line. when we got drew we *knew* that would be the key to his own success - protecting and keeping him safe. parcells knew that and he knew he'd not have much time/years to "fix the line". to drews credit, the line played like hammered moose manure AGAIN but this time he made the passes he needed to make vs. bouncing them around or overthrowing them.

the end result was the same, but this time our WR's decided to just drop the passes. as a team we just were flat out NOT ready to play yesterday and that leads to 1 person and 1 person only.

the coach. if we're in a bad position team wise, no one else put us there. we can't even blame jerry jones because he's done what we've all asked for and most said would never do - he hired a top gun and gave him total control. if jerry were in control we'd have seen a lot more of hensen and would be building a long term plan which ultimately sure - may fail also, but it's got better odds overall.

but no, this isn't about hensen not seeing the field. or even romo. it's about a bull-headed coach who is hellbent on "my way or the highway" and he's actually scared good players into performing badly. how many times has JJ been sat down for bad play or even a fumble? now, how many times was vinnie or drew sat down for the very same thing?

never comes to mind. consistancy out the window. the tunnel vision parcells shows is incredible and while i agree he's WAS a HELL of a coach in his time, he's not taking the time to learn todays game - he's forcefeeding it his game and that isn't going to get us there.

so to many of us, the 'parcells era' is nothing more than smoke, mirrors and a few shiney victories he will bring us, but any long term reason to be proud or happy just isn't here for a lot of us. i gave up on parcells when he gave up on hensen and wouldn't let him finish. NOT because i wanted to see hensen, but because of the overall lack of patience it exhibited on the field for someone NOT a former player of his.

now this year when we're in a "playoff run" (and let's be honest, playoff teams don't get their arse handed to them like your skins did to us - you're in a much better position to move on so best of luck!) and our qb is getting toasted and by the 4th quarter we know it's over - why is he still in there risking injury when we'll need him perhaps next week when it matters or we have a shot?

best chance to win? not that game.

last year i commented that parcells would never allow someone else to be qb and i'll stand by that this year as well. i also commented that parcells sounded lost in his interviews and like a rambling old fool whittling in front of the feed store mixing stories left and right that in the end makes no sense to anyone but him, if even that. what i saw then i think a lot of people will see now, or at least comment - parcells is done.

he was a great coach, he was. he's helped this team be better than it was - he has. but the committment he's making is to today, not long term and while some may feel he can and/or will get it done, you'll see a growing minority of us who will only get more vocal as the story plays out that parcells is lost, unable to field a "valid" contender today, and jerry jones is going to have to do what he's got to do and pull the plug.

many many years ago on a DMN forum far far away, i said jerry jones was smart and would sooner or later "let go" and hire a coach, pay him, and get the hell out of the way. those living for "the day" thought me the fool cause look - he just won't do it. he did, and i was so dead on right. now, if jerry is as smart as i gave him credit for that time, then i must contend that he's still a smart man but now he's one in a delima - if he fires the great bill parcells will he be the egomanic owner?

i think he's given parcells time to show what he has and while not bad, it's not a superbowl team. for the dallas cowboys, making the playoffs should be a given, not a hope year after year. w/bp he's got us hoping now, but he's not delivering.

it's time for a change.

congrats again on your win and sweep. we can only hope it's not time to reverse the streak, though. : )

I swear it has just been flat out crazy this year.

We sweep the eagles who have owned us of late...and get swept by the team we have owned of late.

I am beginning to think I have entered a bizarro altenate universe or something.:

I've got to say, as much as I don't like the Commanders, the fans I've seen posting on here are at least showing at least a little bit of class while enjoying their win. Here's the post I got from a Cowboys hater on another board I visit:

"F you cowboys"

Obviously in his post, there was no asterisk. I can handle posts from people with pictures of brooms, or posts that say "Wow, the Cowboys sucked yesterday" because ... well ... they did. This guy takes the rivalry personally, though. He actually HATES the Cowboys. If this guy saw Bill Parcells on the street, he would probably spit on him. The guy is an idiot. I swear .. Emmitt Smith must have stolen his lunch money some years ago or something.

I hope some members here remember this show of class by many of the Skins fans.

Hate them or not they have shown class IMO.

When we beat them next year I would hope we would return the favor.

I've never understood the venom some fans display. It's a freaking football game. Although we have an emotional connection to the team, there's no reason to translate that emotion into something that physically affects you such that your actions affect other people.

Looks better in person.

You need to go get you one...best price for quality you are likely to find...they truly could sell the thing for triple what they charge.

You know that christmas tree avatar just does not work for you.

You need something with a little more attitude to it.

Saturday afternoon I was in Downtown D.C.. Saw a guy with Dallas gear on and we chatted while waiting in line. Mostly about the game.

It came down to this. I said "Look, I don't HATE Dallas....I just want my team to whoop them". When its over, I feel great for awhile. Then its done. Its just a game, a sport. "

He just laughed and said "Yep, sometimes people get swept up in it and act like the other team just shot your dog and stole your wife"

If you can't be classy, then you should move to Philly. ;)
