T-New to Pro-Bowl, REALLY!!

Newman should have gone in 2003, 2005, and 2006.

This is some justice.

Jenkins will get his, and he will get multiple ones, too.

Newman had a very good year.

He can hang his head high.

Go get'em TNEW!

Newman had a solid year this year, but not for the amount of money we're paying him. He rarely makes plays on the ball, doesn't have any game changing performances, and he's the 2nd best corner we have on the team right now.

He should give his spot to Jenkins who is much more deserved!

Believe it. I can get a 7th rd pick for Carpenter. I can't get anything for Newman. Zip. Nada. He has absolutely no trade value. His production sucks and his salary is sky high. That is not a good combination.

Do you really think anyone would even offer a 7th rd pick for Newman?

I could care less if Jenkins never sees the field in a pro bowl game.

Yes, the recognition is great, but why risk injury to your top corner in a meaningless exhibition game?

100% agree!! The Pro Bowl is a joke anyways!

Every single team in the NFL would give a 7th rd pick for him.

You just asked if anybody would trade a 7th rnd pick for a 2 time pro-bowler, who would start on every single team in the NFL? Yes, clearly they would.

You can't actually be that blind of a hater can you? You literally post in every single thread that mentions Newman, just to bash him. It's pathetic.

Just put him on ignore. You're wasting your time arguing with him. Trust me.

I haven't followed the entirety of this thread, but no doubt, the notion that Newman is 'untradeable' is ridiculous.

As much as Roy Williams and Flozell Adams got nods to Hawaii when they did not earn it in years past, this one is right there with them.

this ^^^^ Newman had maybe 1 or 2 games where he struggled.. The Giants game along with every other DB on the team and the Broncos game which really wasn't even on him, Marshall grabs him at the line of scrimmage and the ball just gets over T-New's hands...

2 more:

The San Diego game where he was supposed jam Vincent Jackson, but let's him go, which resulted in a key reception of the game:

And it happened AGAIN, same exact play, only this time is a 47 yards touchdown in the playoffs:

It seems like if anybody is on somebody's " nuts ", it's you on Newman's...

your right ints are meaningless(sarcasm)yet more times then none it is how they are measured. I would ask you who do you think wade would say had a better year and was more deserving? maybe your obvious newman liking is swaying your opinion

i actually like Jenkins and him equally better.....Miles is my fav player now

Don't let the name n sig fool ya...i still like him..but this was way back 06?

just stating a fact...Newman has played well.....

The only thing funnier about Newman making the pro bowl is some of the people defending him here.

Newman plain stinks to the nth degree.

But, hey, on the bright side: maybe the Cowboys can trade him for something now.

Any fool team out there want to give up a 1st for him? A second? I'll gladly take a 3rd for him. I'll even settle for a 4th rd pick.

The sad reality: Bobby Carpenter right now has more trade value than Newman.

lets just release him...our D will be much better

That's the key part.

Also, considering the position he plays, I'd say 3rd best corner. Scandrick having to deal with slot receivers, which could be anywhere from quick Wes Welker type receivers, to RBs, to TE's, and even sometimes #1 receivers being moved into the slot in order to prevent double teams, and not being protected by either sidelines ( or helped over the top with safeties ), has a much harder job and has done fine. He's giving up some plays, but there isn't a slot corner in the league who hasn't.

Scandrick could move into Newman's spot today and the Cowboys wouldn't miss a beat at that position ( in fact, it would probably be an improvement ), but would probably have a horrible time finding another CB who could cover the slot like he can.

We'll call it a make-up invitation. There were plenty of years he should have been there, and chumps like Deangelo Williams and Walt Harris went instead.
lol so true but really if any cowboy corner deserved it this year it was jenkins

You cannot be serious. Newman is far better on the outside and would be better in the slot than Scandrick is.

There's a reason that our coaches match up Newman -- not Jenkins or Scandrick -- with an opposing receiver, when we use that defensive game plan.
