I'm just hoping no one in the organization responds to this. This is what the media wants a back and forth between owens and the team. There is no need to get inro a sparring session with this egomaniac. Let him talk and let's move on with the buisness of the DALLAS COWBOYS!!!!!!

I don't know that he broke his promise to Jerry.

Cowboy Nation is down on T.O. now... but in 2006 and 2007, Owens was a HUGE positive for our football team.
Not even Dallas fans who hated T.O. could deny that.

In 2008, it appears clear that T.O.'s negative attitude DID contribute to our poor season. But it wasn't as big a contribution as Tony Romo's injury. Or as big as Felx Jones' injury. Or as big as Roy Williams' inability to contribute. Etc.

I'd say all-in-all, Jerry got a pretty nice overall three years from Terrell Owens. It didn't work out as well as we all hoped it would. But overall, I think T.O.'s positives as a Dallas Cowboy DO outweigh his negatives, over the course of his three year tenure.

I'd agree his positives outweighed his negatives. I still don't know how you can be blindsided by something that every news source is reporting could happen.

I agree. Really I do. Owens didnt keep him promise because he cant control himself. He is broken.

The antidote was to use him to his strengths and we didnt. Lost a golden opportunity in those 3 years. Coulda snuck into SB in 07 and 08 was supposed to be it. Oh well.

He knew we weren't a WCO before he ever even thought about coming here and he knew we were not going to become a WCO.

IF Jerry did tell T.O. that he wasn't going anywhere, despite the media speculation... then cut him... then I'd say that qualifies as being "blindsided".

True.

But I think that whole T.O.-Jerry relationship was telling. IMO, as long as Jerry was behind him, T.O. could do no wrong and do anything he wanted. He didn't have to be sensitive to anyone else. Jerry wanted him in Dallas. Jerry calls the shots. Screw everyone else.

So when Jerry dumps him, I can see why he feels "betrayed."

All i'll say is we sure had better be able to account for what we're losing on the field by letting him go. Roy W had better stop running flat footed and catch those 14 td's a year and 1200 yards to replace him, becuase he's sure being paid enough $$$ to give us the impression he can do it.

Blindsided? Almost as soon as the season was over the speculation started. How wrapped up in yourself do you have to be to not see it as a possibility if that many news sources are talking about it?

And there lies the problem with T.O. He can't stop to think from another point of view, only from his own.
