"There were some people I know who got in his ear that pressured him to make that decision. For that, it's sad. You let two or three people conspire to get me out of the situation."

So now Jerry's the puppet at Valley Ranch? Hi-larious.

Who's this TO guy? Seems like I used to care about his problems and then something happened that removed his burden from me.

Who didn't see this coming?

What Jerry, Stephen, Wade, Garrett, Romo, Witten, and the rest of the Cowboys have to do is continue to take the high road. Yeah, some in the media might try to bash you for the obvious contradictions, (right, Wade?) but it's still the right thing to do. Don't get bogged down in this crap.

Everyone should know why TO isn't here, even if Terrell is the only guy who doesn't. He attacked the QB, the O-coordintor, and placed himself above the rest of the team. And all of that might have been okay if he were still a true superstar, but instead he was declining and only producing in less than a handful of 16 games. That's why he's not here.

Do your thiang in Buffalo T.O., and watch while we go nowhere again because of the boneheaded move.

That is one score in the negative column for Stephen in my book. Jerry disappointed me on this one.

I had predicted us in the SB this year or next, but it will be a little longer, once Jery realizes we need some real WRs, and QB

Based on the last two years, what the hell would make you think NEXT YEAR would be the year that same cast of characters got over the hump?

Jerry did blindside him if he told him he was going to keep him and then released him (if we believed everything the media told us or speculated upon, you would go insane). And he did technically reneg on his contract.

But, big deal.

Happens all of the time in the NFL because that's the way the league is set up...for better or for worse. And the players know and understand that by now.

Furthermore, Owens did keep quiet for periods of time. In '07 he refused to talk to the media while he was rehabbing his hand. The media's response? 'He's only being quiet because he wants attention!' And he did keep quiet to Mr. Blue Suit by refusing to answer his questions. Mr. Blue Suit's response? Write an article quoting ONE anonymous source 'who regularly speaks to Owens' teammates' that he's jealous of Witten and Romo's relationship.

I don't think there was a conspiracy to get Owens out of Dallas by anyone, but some media members saw him as a great way to get people to read their work or watch their TV show or listen to them on the radio. And it's obvious that they would still love to have Owens in Dallas to provide them with more material. Surely, some people didn't like Owens, but he sure had plenty of supporters in the organization.

I wish I could feel that Owens was the reason why the team went 9-7 last year. It would be very easy to just cut him and see the team perform better next season. But I really don't see Owens as that big of a problem for the team and coaches should be able to work around that. Apparently Jason Garrett wasn't able to.

TO directly referenced Jerry and the Cowboys organization, so it's front-page worthy.

Hey TO, what does a bear do in the woods? :lmao:

This is great. I'm so glad he'd gone and I'm so proud of you, Jerry!

I hate when people keep saying TO was all about himself. He didn't put himself above the team. He put winning above the apparently fragile egos of some of those in the organization. I'm embarrassed at how weak many people in this organization are.

The TEAM failed to take advantage of TO's abilities. The OC is still by far the biggest problem from last season (followed closely by Proctor). Both of those problems still exist. Thankfully if they're healthy, Proctor won't be an issue.

I am glad TO is gone and I don't care what he thinks about it.

So far this off-season I like the changes Jerry is making to the Cowboys. There is even a chance that they may actually form a team this year instead of a bunch of unmotivated glory hogs each out only for himself like last year.

Please. TO will not run across the middle like he used to. He's become as wary of contact as Randy Moss has.

I don't know that he broke his promise to Jerry.

Cowboy Nation is down on T.O. now... but in 2006 and 2007, Owens was a HUGE positive for our football team.
Not even Dallas fans who hated T.O. could deny that.

In 2008, it appears clear that T.O.'s negative attitude DID contribute to our poor season. But it wasn't as big a contribution as Tony Romo's injury. Or as big as Felx Jones' injury. Or as big as Roy Williams' inability to contribute. Etc.

I'd say all-in-all, Jerry got a pretty nice overall three years from Terrell Owens. It didn't work out as well as we all hoped it would. But overall, I think T.O.'s positives as a Dallas Cowboy DO outweigh his negatives, over the course of his three year tenure.
TO has been a headache from Day one with the Cowboys. But as long as he was an elite player, he was worth it.

Once he started to decline, the headache wasn't worth it anymore. His fans can say he didn't decline, but it's simply inarguable that if he was still elite and wasn't the lockerroom pariah he's been made out to be, he most certainly wouldn't be plying his trade in Buffalo this year.

Yea....we racked up a lot of hardware with the GREATEST PLAYER **EVER** in the history of the league on our team.

All hail TO

I agree with this but I am going to take TO out of it to make a point.

THE ORGANIZATION failed = Jerry and his trickle boobenomics.
(Good move in keeping Wade on Jerrah)
