T.O. Spitting on Hall *** MERGED THREAD ***

The reality is that he will probably to continue to do stupid thing here and stupid thing there. He will also continue to perform on the field and may help get us to a Superbowl. You can either live with it, which some have clearly done, or hop right onto the TO bashing bandwagon with the rest of them. The wheels are about to fall off of that thing.

I hope he does help the 'Boys win a Superbowl. But that does not mean I have to pretend that he doesn't often act like a jerk and an idiot.

Revisionist history alert. There were many people on this board calling for Haynesworth to be arrested.

I don't remember a 1000 page dissertation on Haynesworth. If it existed please provide a link.

Hmmmm.....

An illegal crackback block, which can cause serious, career threatening injury, will get you a fifteen yard penalty.

Spitting on an opponet will get you a 25 g fine and maybe a suspension.

Hmmmm.....

Not saying I condone spitting. It is a classless act that has no place in the game.

How about a little perspective though.

Hypothetical question;

You HAVE to choose between Hall and Owens to add to your team. Your choice must be made on the quailty of character rather then quality of performance or need.

Who do you take?

Right now, T.O...because we don't have WR contingencies...after the season, I'd take Hall in a heartbeat based on ability...talking smack is not considered bad character, so I'm probably ignorant to some off-field behavior or something that you guys must be holding against him.

For the last time I do not defend TO spitting in Halls face. HOWEVER- as I and OTHERS have pointed out- Hall was doing a lot more then just talking.

Hall is an over-rated CB that CONSTANTLY get's burned... He is targetted a lot... Hall can only run fast... I would never do the deal...

TO looked incredibly PO'd after the game when he was sitting with the NFL broadcasters. It seems that it was there that he found out Hall actually cried to the media about the alleged spitting. He must have thought to himself what a punk, after most likely going over to Hall after the game and apologizing.

Exactly. He probably thought the exact thing I said when I head about it. The only out for burnt toast was to cry to mommy media. punk move by a punk of a player.

motley- you really do not mean to say that Hall is a good CB do you?

I don't know anything about a 1000 page dissertation. There were plenty of people discussing the Haynesworth incident. And it was not just one thread.

I don't recall asking you to pretend. There's a bandwagon of hate awaiting your presence.

You guys who keep defending this and blaming it on Hall mouthing off are "looking" like clowns...If you're paying attention, the spitting occured very early in the game before the first punt, so it's simply ignorant to watch the entire game and base the spitting on Hall's behavior...I would assume he spent the rest of the game with his comments and physicality amped up a notch because of the spitting incident in the first quarter.

Defend T.O. for having a good game...say he owned Hall on the field, but don't pretend that T.O. just couldn't take any more...this incident happened very early in the game for whatever reason...period.

I said it happened early... But this does not mean Hall was NOT silent during the period leading upto the incident. From the very beginning of the game, Hall was going off on TO...

TO is impulsive no doubt... But Hall is not an angel...

The only place I would take hall is in the very last round of my fantasy draft. He's Mr. Irrelevant to me. He's often burned and his play doesn't back up his flapping gums.

But let's talk about the six unregistered guns found in Tank Johnson's house, as well as his bodyguard being shot dead....

the question said it had to be based on character alone, not ability or need, and I am not aware of character issues with Hall.

That said, you are alone in your opinion of Hall...the probowl, unlike baseball, is not selected by the fans...their part is minimal.

Clearly, the coaches, players around the league, and everyone who makes a living in the NFL, including sports media, believe Hall is a pro-bowler and one of the top CBs in the NFL.

He makes a lot of huge plays...I'd take him over anyone in our secondary besides TNew, and I'm not sure the rest of the league wouldn't see that one as a push.

Yes. Please provide some numbers. They were nothing close to the dissertation that took place within a matter of hours last night. It's laughable.

What gets me is that this AM on ESPN they start off the program saying "It's a shame that we have to start off the show with the T.O. spitting incident instead of talking about the Cowboys Big Win"

Who the Heck made the T.O. incident priority????

They Did!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is just media sensationalism.

I know it's a story ,but after they talked about the incident they never talked about the Game last night.

Just ridiculous.:espn:

Yes...I do...and I don't judge it by one game. I think he'll be in Hawaii for many years.

As for Mr. Selfish TO, let's also ignore the video of him going over to Barber and slapping him high-fives and giving him mad props... Let's not talk about the AWESOME display of blocking put on by TO as a WR during that game... Let's not talk about the torn ligaments he has been playing with in his hands... Let's not talk about how, during the periods his drops have been scrutinized to a tee, he hasn't even said anything about the hand..

Oh, but that would mess up our view of TO...

Frankly, Motley, I see nothing that shows Hall is anything other then a mouth that has fooled a lot of people. AND it was mostly the votes of the fans that got him into the pro bowl. He has been exposed this year.
