I generally agree with Tad. Some Cowboys fans are ridiculous with their criticism of Dak. I don't think that is unique to Dallas fans though.

If Dak wants to be a Cowboys for life, that's great. I want players who want to be here. But I also want players who want to win here. Dak did not give me the impression his priority was winning when he signed his last contract. I have no idea what he wants this time around but if he holds out for $60 million then he will prove once again his priority is just Dak and not winning.

Then again, if I am Dak, why not get as much as I can? I am watching the owner do nothing in preseason to clear CAP space and sign free agents to improve the team, so why should I give them a break if they are unwilling to use it?

And to that point, rush did fine. So we think it's really a step back if we saved 20-35m at QB and played say brissett or minshew and used that money to shore up the ol, rb, dl, lb etc? I don't.

Sure he's better than a guy like brissett but not enough to compensate for what he wants to get paid and not be able to carry the team.

I have to wonder if we actually would shore up other positions. Or would we continue to value shop? I don't think Dak is why they are cheap. I think they are just against spending in FA.

This is what I get sick of with Dak defenders, to them he deserves all the credit for 3 12 win seasons and "just wait until you see the team without him", but when it comes to the playoffs the organization deserves the blame. So Dak deserves all credit where applicable and none of the blame and go ahead and pay him 60 million per season? No just no.

BTW there's no way we win 12 wins next season with or without Dak.

Hes right, everyone blames Dak but no QB can win a Super Bowl title with this franchise.

There are plenty of QBs, who if they had the roster Dak had the last 4 years, would have won a SB by now. Any legit QB that had Lamb AND Cooper and the number 1 ranked scoring defense and turnover defense for 2 of those years would be sitting pretty.

All the Dak-a-zoids were hyping Dak up this whole training camp, as the Texas West Coast was a "sure thing" and the problem was on the "offensive side of the ball". Right after Moore, came the very next scapegoat on the other side of the ball. Now they are back to blaming Jerry and Dan Quinn, as long as it's not Mr. Pick 6 and can't read a zone or throw past his first read to save his life... I mean even Jane Slater was quoting an anonymous Cowboys WR saying that Dak panics after his first read. Is that even a surprise? No, it confirms exactly what we've been saying for years on this forum. Just like he can't throw against zone. Defensive players have called him out for this specifically.
