No he would not. I am saying it is a popularity contest most of the time. Jackson did not have that good of years since he won it the 1st time. But yet he has always been put in the conversation. Mahomes had a down year and was obvious he would not be considered.
He rises and falls with the success of his team just like every other QB. Purdy was the favorite for awhile …… until Lamar went to SF and destroyed them. How did Dak do in SF?

Yup.

Such a media darlin they said he was a WR coming out of college. Then when he got to play they called him a RB playing QB.

Lamar has never been a media darling.
I guess you don't watch many football shows. I don't watch them all the time. But what I have seen...yeah he is a media darling.

It's probably going to go to Lamar Jackson but if Prescott doesn't get any votes then I don't know what to say about the objectivity it all. Statistically, Prescott was just better in 2023. These numbers are not really close. But Prescott, due to the negative narrative that has followed him, is just NOT a sexy pick for MVP.
MVP go beyond the stats. It isn't about glitz or glamous. It isn't about off the field stuff. It's most valuable PLAYER. Who has been the most valuable player to their team? I can see it going either way.

How did the defense do in SF?
It doesn’t matter. Dak stunk up the stadium. He had his chance to change his narrative and blew it by a wide margin. The defense doesn’t stand under center and conduct the offense.

There is no case to be made for Dak over Lamar.

Another MVP by Lamar puts pressure on him win the Super Bowl. The media isn’t gonna give him a pass if he comes up short again this year. Multiple MVPs, multiple times as the 1-seed, and a 1-3 playoff record. It’ll especially be interesting if Joe Flacco does well in this playoffs.
Be careful what you wish for… I am fine with flying under the radar. I prefer all of our team to not have as many accolades… It always bites them in the butt. Overhype city!

I remember when my NBA team the Spurs had a great season in the late 1990s, this was before the Dynasty. Everyone thought David Robinson was a great guy, deserved the MVP, and he got it. But when he made the last round, Hakeem Olajuwon started telling his Teammates he didn’t deserve it, started having the games of his life and punked David Robinson hard. Later, Dennis Rodman would even talk about Robinson shaking in the locker room. He was never the same until he got Tim Duncan. Just saying, let’s keep flying low and go all the way. Which judging by those comments last night from Dak and how he wasn’t wearing an NFC East shirt, I believe he gets it, I just hope the rest of his teammates do too.

That's the problem with these voting I mean I don't know what they're looking at Prescott deserves it more than anyone if you look at how important he's been to this team especially in games where he's had to play with a weak offensive line no run game one-dimensional his defense at times was shaky throughout the year and he stayed steady just about every game everyone has a bad gamer two like those dudes on the list...

But this year I mean you can't just say well he's on the better team they're one game better than us this year and I believe they all are deserving of the consideration but Prescott probably had to do more than any of them I mean here we go again with the Ravens defense I mean Joe Flacco was the recipient of that at one time all the way back to the 2000 Ravens teams I mean you know if Prescott had an 86 bears defense and a run game in an offense built to just control the clock and make sure they can make plays when needed that was the plan going into this year and the irony here is Mike McCarthy had to change back to a wide open offense to throw to set up the run because we didn't have a good enough run game and we have an inconsistent blocking offensive line...

When I look at that Ravens team I see a great team around Lamar Jackson and he had not had to do as much this year as he did his other MVP year and I believe because of the lower mistakes this year by Prescott he gets to the top of that list yes it's impressive what Josh Allen has done but the dude is a turnover machine and his team barely made it into the playoffs and Brock Purdy is on a loaded team even more so than Jackson and they've all played well they're all deserving of it...

Trust me it sounds like we're being homers and the haters don't wanna hear it but Prescott is clearly just by numbers and what he had to do with less and his turnovers are so far down I mean I don't even remember if he had any official fumbles lost but either way this is the lowest turnovers when you look at touchdown interception ratio and total turnovers Prescott should get it...

Yeah that's the thing though and I'm not sure what side you're on but Prescott has both he had to do more with less his turnovers were way down he's the leader in touchdowns and he made the least amount of mistakes as far as hurting his team... Add in it we have one of the best records in the league we're the number two seed so I'd say Prescott is the most deserving even though they're all in the conversation and they should all be in consideration but this year I don't wanna sound like a Homer Prescott absolutely deserves it..

If it was a popularity contest, Mahomes would win it every year. Lamar and his team were better than anyone else this year.
Nah, Mahomes lost a lot of respect in a lot of people's eyes after the way he handled the end of the Bills game.

A lot of it is popularity though and not just stats. Romo had Rodgers beat on most stats in one of the years Rodgers won MVP but Rodgers was the name at the time and got the votes. Dak will also be hurt by the fact that we lost against San Fran and Philly and those were primetime games with a lot of viewership. I'll take a Super Bowl over Dak winning MVP though :)

Are you saying 10 points should’ve been enough for us to beat San Fran?

The QBs won't be able to do what they did without the supporting cast so why just single one person? it is not fair

You have to step away from the pompom. Just because people think Dak won’t and shouldn’t win it doesn’t mean anything more than that. He did not and consistently has not performed under the bright lights. If he beats some good teams next year, he’ll have a chance for the mvp.

Bc he’s the QB of the best team in the league and he does it all. His team was better than Daks. AND He did what Dak could not do…… make SF look like chumps on their home field. So he deserves the regular season glory this year.
He full body of work is ok. Good. Not great.
