Talent Evaluation

Dallas needs to kill the next 2 drafts so they can try do something in the playoffs in the 2026 season.

Alright all you klansmen, name one single piece this whole team is dependent upon up front.

I know this is not really a new topic, but as I’m watching college football, I can’t help but realize that I was fooled. I see great players that I know we won’t draft.

I was one who thought Will McClay, being a shadow GM, was doing a great job. At least 2022 and before.

Now, it seems obvious that we’ve lost our way from an organizational perspective and our scouting is no longer viable.

Before they had to offset the crazy and McClays team had been somewhere able to resist the stupidity of Stephen and Jerry, but I’ve lost what faith I had.

We had two picks in 2022, one in 2021 and two in 2020.

Pretty crappy overall.

It just feels bad that what was the one thing we all tried to say “but we draft well …” is now an outdated opinion.
Why is the board blaming the director of college scouting for our drafting the last couple of years. The issue is and always will be the owner/president/general manager and his vice president/assistant general manager/son. Although we can’t just give up on the last two drafts as Mazi, Schoonmaker, Guyton, and Bebe are improving. Stop acting like are rookies are Michah and CeeDee. It takes time. Also Overshown is showing to be an elite Will linebacker.

They draft well.

Yeah the Cowboys do. The problem is we never use free agency. I imagine if we brought in two defensive tackles to supplement Osa and Mazi.
It looks like they will use free agency this time. That's what it looks like as they look to be on their way to 100 million in cap space.

Like I have been saying McClay was over-rated.....Weird Kellen Moore leaves.......Now we can't draft...Hmmmm

Did Jerry or Stephen say the will spend any money in the offseason? Broaddus thinks we will lose Osa, Gholston, and Lewis as teams will be willing to pay them.

Why would they raise 100 million in cap space and not use it?

I think McClay is pretty good overall at what he does. But remember…he recommends players. He does not draft them. He puts the board together and the Jones boys pull the trigger.

One of the big inherent problems with having an 82 year old playing GM is he has never had a guiding philosophy of what kind of team he’s building or what he needs to have to make his team as a whole successful. He looks at individual parts, not the sum.

And that last sentence is the problem. Jerry and Giggles draft like fantasy football owners. They pick some good players but because they really don’t know what they are doing, we end of with a bunch of puzzle pieces with no whole puzzle.

Geez. One bad season, ravaged by injuries at that, and you guys are all jumping off cliffs.
Ya after 29 years of not even playing in an NFCCG why is everyone freaking out over this season??
Jeez man................ :muttley:

We are a poorly coached team. Until that changes, it's hard to evaluate talent. This offensive line could be a lot better than it's showing right now.
The defense is stacked. We just need a tackle and a safety, maybe

They don’t have that much cap space. The could get their by restructures and a Parsons extension but what makes you think the Jones will do something they have not done in 13 years.
