Proper coaching will win this game.
Dumb coaching will lose us this game.

Case in point, overpassing when game is tight or not creating anything for Dak to avoid the rush when he's being blitzed.

Daks as mobile as they get as far as qb's go. You have to utilize it. It doesn't mean he becomes a running qb but when we struggle to get a first down, you better do something different then your standard empty back set, blitz comes in, he forces pass to dunbar but pass is either too high, dropped or stopped short of first down.

We have the players to win, but I hope we have the coaching to win.

Hanna's not coming back... On IR.

Thanks. Does he have the same thing Anthony Spencer had? Degenerative knee?

Austin Traylor anyone? Tony Curtis? Andrew Szcerba? Tysson Poots? Scott Sicko? That one TE from Baylor that we had a couple years ago? Any of these guys would be a better blocker than Escobar.

We must must find creative ways to get Dez involved. Jenkins is good but not as good as we made him look. We hit Dez on a simple slant late in the game. No way this isn't available earlier. We make teams defend Zeke.. they should also have to defend Dez as well.

It sounds like a big-time knee issue.

And our OL pass blocking seems to be getting worse.

Our pass protection wasn't particularly good last night and what's so discouraging is the Giants didn't have JPP. For the first time all season Dak looked out of sorts and our passing game was totally out of sync. Dez's head was somewhere else.

And the play calling was predictable.

Other than those issues, it was a great night for the offense. :D

11 days ago, Prescott faced the league's #3 pass defense in Minnesota. Last night against the Giants, he went up against the league's #2 pass defense, according to Defensive Passer Rating.

Next he's about to face a pass defense that leads the entire NFL in the second half of the season (games 9-13). Over their last 5 games, the Bucs are 5-0 and have allowed a passer rating of 62.5.

97 of 161 60.2% 999 yd 4 td 10 int 62.5

doesn't matter. At some point QB has to elevate regardless of opponent. The playoffs are usually filled with good defense. I think Dak is mentally tough but we will find out soon. He can't have this team limping into playoffs.

I know some hate the 2007 comparison but the last two weeks have a strong resemblance to that season. Our offense started flaming out in Dec of 07 and the last two games we've had little offensive punch in the passing game. The Tampa game is very critical because if we drop that one, it's time to panic.

Just have to hope Dak hasn't hit that rookie wall. Next Sunday nights game is going to be critical for him and the team. It's very important we bounce back with a win and look good doing it. Really interested to see how Dak responds from his poor performance last night.

And how does their run defense rank for the same period?

Dak is very likely to struggle again this week and the rest of the way.

These teams are all fighting for playoff lives.

He's a rookie struggling, as would be expected.

Nah. He's not the typical qb rookie. Far from it.

Hmmm....your words or the coach or owners words? Boy, tough call.

Even if they knew there was a chance that they could switch to Romo, they wouldn't say that publicly. There's no doubt the plan is to stick with Dak and hope he works it out. But if they aren't at least considering the possibility of using Romo if Dak struggles -- at least in the playoffs -- then they're willing to sacrifice the season for one player's ego.

Just remember what Gary Kubiak said last December: "Brock's our quarterback, and nothing has changed from that standpoint. The team knows that Brock is our quarterback."

A few days later, Kubiak benched Brock Osweiler with the Broncos losing in the third quarter, and Peyton Manning started the rest of the way. (They won that game and every game after that.)

Yeah, and if Patrick Crayton doesn't quit on a route in the last minute the Cowboys beat the Giants in the playoffs and the entire history is rewritten. All of that "flaming out" wouldn't even be remembered but for that one play.

I don't panic over football games. That's for the people whose jobs are on the line. I'm just a fan.

Those who are chanting for Romo are wasting their time this is Dak's team and the Cowboys are going to live or die with him this season. The decision has already been made. Dak had his first poor game last night and he didn't get any help from his receivers. Church dropped what would have been two INT's and we pretty much gave the Giants the game. We have receivers and DBs who can't catch or hang onto the damn ball.
Yeah but isn't the idea to win the Super Bowl? If we do get HFA we can't waste that like we did in 2007. If teams have figured out Dak's weaknesses, then why should the entire team suffer for it when you have a former league passing leader on the bench? It took the Broncos one game to make the switch back to Peyton Manning and they ended up winning the Super Bowl. They were not going to get there with Osweiler and made the change before it was too late. Jim Harbaugh did the same thing in 2012 with Alex Smith and ended up in the Super Bowl. Why should a fourth round rookie QB be immune to benching? Play the best player for the sake of the present team not for the future.
