Tampa's pass defense #1 in last 5 games

Nah. He's not the typical qb rookie. Far from it.

That is true.

he's been much better then expected for the majority of the year.

He's going to continue to struggle though. Unless he suddenly learns a ton in quick order, which I don't believe he is going to. There just isn't the time to do it, nor the experience for it.

Tampa Bay's defense has been pretty good the last several games, but their opponents have been a bit of a mixed bag offensively. They've beaten the Bears, Chiefs, Seahawks, Chargers, and Saints. The Bears are terrible. The Chiefs are a good team, but not exactly an explosive offense. Seattle is very up and down offensively. The Chargers are an average team with a very good QB, but have had injuries. The Saints are normally a very good offensive team, but have struggled the past couple of games. I don't downplay Tampa's defense because they have beaten some pretty good offenses. The two games before these five, their defense was manhandled. They gave up 43 to Atlanta and 30 to Oakland. Both teams have very good offenses, but that's a lot of points to give up.

If we get back to the offensive production we've had most of the season, we should definitely win this game. Tampa's offense is very average aside from Evans. Of course, expecting our offense to snap out of the funk is a big question at this time.

Yeah, and if Patrick Crayton doesn't quit on a route in the last minute the Cowboys beat the Giants in the playoffs and the entire history is rewritten. All of that "flaming out" wouldn't even be remembered but for that one play.

I don't panic over football games. That's for the people whose jobs are on the line. I'm just a fan.

It wasn't just that one play we gave Eli all day and couldn't stop the Giants on 3rd down. We gave them an easy TD to Toomer in the first quarter when we had him boxed in and we allowed the Giants to tie the game right before the half with a long drive that took little time. There were a lot of things that helped cost us that game besides the mistakes Crayton made.

They will attack the run and cover short passes and check down passes. Make Dak beat you downfield. The blueprint has been out since the Vikings game. It's up to the offense to make teams pay for playing 8 man fronts and blitzing.

Yeah but isn't the idea to win the Super Bowl? If we do get HFA we can't waste that like we did in 2007. If teams have figured out Dak's weaknesses, then why should the entire team suffer for it when you have a former league passing leader on the bench? It took the Broncos one game to make the switch back to Peyton Manning and they ended up winning the Super Bowl. They were not going to get there with Osweiler and made the change before it was too late. Jim Harbaugh did the same thing in 2012 with Alex Smith and ended up in the Super Bowl. Why should a fourth round rookie QB be immune to benching? Play the best player for the sake of the present team not for the future.

The idea is to win the SB and Romo hasn't gotten us past the second round of the playoffs. We're not winning anything with him especially with all the games he's missed. He's been rusting on the sidelines for over a year, not having played a regular season game in 13 months. His game isn't going to be sharp and he'll take sacks and turn the ball over much more than Dak has. We're too far into the season to go back to where we've been with Romo. If we're going to win anything this season it will be with the QB that got us here. The Broncos went back to Peyton Manning because he's one of the all-time great QBs who's won a championship and hadn't been rusting on the sidelines for over a year. He played that season and got injured missing 7 games, not a full year like Romo.

There's no comparison between Manning's situation and Romo's. None of the comparisons you're making are similar to Romo's. Dak has only had one poor game all season and you don't pull a QB who's played as well as he has due to one poor performance. He got no help from his receivers. He converted what would would have been a big 3rd down and Dez fumbled. Those of you who want to bench Dak after one poor game are being ridiculous. He should be given the opportunity like any starting QB to bounce back next week.

Then Linehan needs to get creative, or at least use more screens, a delayed draw or designed rollouts.

I thought I was watching last years offense last night. we need to do more quick screens and drag routes in the early downs instead of trying ten yard post patterns. linehan needs to call quick passes to get dak in a rhythm early in the game. I also agree that the oline is struggling on pass blocking the last three games especially Fredrick and leary.

I'm glad they're playing another tough defense. That way we can be more sure that it's the offense playing well rather than just benefitting from playing scrubs.

Or the QB debate will continue.

Tampa bay defense vs Seattle game comes to mind but then again our Oline is way better than Seattle. Dak I am not sure because he was like a deer in headlights last night. He needs to fix his feet and throwing mechanics and needs to take off with the ball more often when in trouble. Can't hold on to the ball as long as he was last night. Quick throws, and damn we need to throw a lot of screens!!!!

Screens and slants, for sure! They're really missing from the repetoire.

And our OL pass blocking seems to be getting worse.

Dak has all the time in the world..

It's either the OL or the WRs can't get open, not the fact he is holding on to the ball way too long..

5 and 6 man fronts.. teams are trying to stop Zeke and make Dak throw the ball..

I'm good:http://cowboyszone.com/threads/romo-romo-romo-merged.365790/#post-7056958

I've been warning everybody about the Bucs the last 3 weeks, but everybody else is worried about the bum Lions.

Others react to things. I foresee issues before they happen. Check the date:http://cowboyszone.com/threads/all-day-game-thread.365038/page-73#post-7035909

What exactly are you wanting credit for? We haven't played the bucs yet, so your predictions and/or concerns still have no more merit than anyone concerned with the lions. You realize there's no magic score you have to achieve week to week right? Just need to outscore your opponent which the lions have done 9 times this year.

Bucs look solid and dangerous, but don't break your arm patting yourself on the back just yet

If they can't beat TB, this team has issues that may not be able to be overcome in the playoffs.

Thought the same thing. It looked exactly like 2014/2015, and nothing like 2016 so far

I've had my eye on Tampa bay for the last several weeks. Going into KC and winning and flying out to San Diego caught my eye.
They are doing the "get hot and get healthy " at the end of the season thing.
Their defense is rounding into form and they have talent.
This will be a tough test for dak.
I do think we can run the ball on them a little better if we stay committed to it.
I'm thinking a 17-14 type of game

Even if they knew there was a chance that they could switch to Romo, they wouldn't say that publicly. There's no doubt the plan is to stick with Dak and hope he works it out. But if they aren't at least considering the possibility of using Romo if Dak struggles -- at least in the playoffs -- then they're willing to sacrifice the season for one player's ego.

Just remember what Gary Kubiak said last December: "Brock's our quarterback, and nothing has changed from that standpoint. The team knows that Brock is our quarterback."

A few days later, Kubiak benched Brock Osweiler with the Broncos losing in the third quarter, and Peyton Manning started the rest of the way. (They won that game and every game after that.)

Why should I remember what some coach said in Denver?

Dak has had 2 bad games this season, all vs the Giants. The only 2 times he has been under 100 in qbr.

vs Giants (69.4 qbr)
At Giants (45.4 qbr)
