Yeah, especially when several police officers have to take you down while one maces you. I guess Chicago police really wanted to go to the Super Bowl that year. It's really no different than how the Dallas Police treated Cowboys players in the early '90s.

That only makes the situation even more suspect. If he was such a problem that it required multiple cops to subdue him that would mean the authorities would be less likely just drop the charges.

As for the dope hes been in the league for several years now and has not failed a test yet. Dope is fat soluble as opposed to powders and as such stays in your system for 30 days. If he was getting baked with his buddy during the season more then likely he would have been caught.

No one is claiming hes a choir boy but at the same time its irresponsible to place blame on others when the legal authorities dont.

Cowboys players got away with a lot in the early '90s.....police not wanting to press charges against NFL players is nothing new.

I never said that im just not going to pin stuff on him that hes been exonerated of.

You'd feel exactly the same way about him if he was signed by the Eagles?

I bet some of those guys would disagree. As a matter of fact, i've heard athlete's say they are Targets nowadays. I know one thing, they don't get away with crap like they did in the 1920s-1980s.

i dont care if McNabb was accused of murder of a family of 5.

i dont dont assign guilt to others without a official court ruling or personal knowledge. its an ethic that i live by. its called being responsible.

I was vilified in these forums because i wouldnt condemn Vick until he was proven guilty.

i realize that its an internet forum but at the same time hes a real living breathing human being.

Post 1994, yes. Pre-1994 they got away with a lot. Just ask Alfredo Roberts.

I have no doubt that they had to mace him. Hes a 300# man.

Again if he a 300 lb man really assaulted a police officer and the district attorney has shown that he will throw the book at Johnson why would they drop the charges when they are public knowledge?

Normally in situations like this the reason why they drop the case its because the officer was not within his rights to arrest the individual in question. If he really attacked a cop they wouldnt just let it slide. Sorry.

Got any proof those charges were made up? Like I said, trouble just seems to follow the guy. I dont like guys like that on the Cowboys. We dont need any more Dwayne Goodriches, Derek Rosses, Alonzo Spellmans on the team. I'll take the Demarcus Wares and Jason Wittens, thank you.

My guess is the DA said look,Tank, you were in the wrong for getting mouthy with the cop,but the cop was overzealous. It behooves both parties to drop the whole thing.

Now youre being stupid. youd rather think that the Bears bribed officals than think he was innocent.

Spare me. If youre saying that them being Bears fans and that caused the to turn the other way then that is even worse.

Cops dont let you attack them and get away with it.

Cowboys having hookers and cocaine and a house and the cops turning a blind eye is one thing but if Alfredo had just slugged a cop then the free pass goes away.

Whats sad here is that you have ZERO personal knowledge and you know that the charges were dropped yet you make the assumption that hes guilty anyway. Like i said hes a living breathing human being and deserves the same respect as anyone else.

i hate people that hide behind computer screens and pass judgment on things they know little to nothing about.

Anyway i have to get up early so im done you go ahead and keep that guilty until proven innocent ethic if you want to.
