If he signs a contract with Dallas and never plays a down for them, he steals the guaranteed money from them and the signing bonus as well. Don't be stupid.

Which is why his guaranteed money will be extremely minimal.

Only real problem I have with this is Tank's gun collection and Keith Davis in the same locker room.

Bad things man. Bad things.

So he takes minimal money from the Cowboys. Still a bad thing. Something Dallas could award Romo, they'd waste on Tank. Not even worth it.

We have plenty of cap space. This will not effect Romo money at all. Not even a nickel.

Unless they get dumb, the Cowboys will be protected if he screws up, and Tank will make money if he performs well.

Unless he comes off in his interview as completely bat-**** crazy, I don't see much downside.

a pro-rated contract is about 250k... hardly something that would affect Romo's contract negotiations.

That said, this guy is a nucklehead of the highest order. Don't know if he'll ever get it. But if he's signed, guess we'll find out soon enough.

Why give ANY money to a proven screw up off the field when Dallas could award it to Romo who's done a lot for the Cowboys?

Lets not kid ourselves here. We need the help on the D line. Hell, even if he can't play nose, let him take over for spears.

Sign him.

he wont be coming in to replace Spears or Ratliff

IMO if he is signed (still a huge if) it will be for the nickel defense as a DT next to Ratliff, Ellis (once he comes back and is ok to play, Phillips has already said he will find ways to get Ellis, Ware and Spencer together on the field on pass rush downs) or maybe Spears, who they could also move inside on pass rush downs

One really has nothing to do with the other...

But if he's signed, does that mean you're going to declare yourself a non-fan until he's no longer on the roster?

See: Owens, Terrel.

Again, Romo will not miss a penny whether Tank is signed or not.

Don't reward a criminal with several hundred thousand dollars simply because he has NFL talent. Even if it helps your team, that's just something you just shouldn't do.

Call me an idealist, I don't care. We all lose something when criminals are rewarded like that.

I don't care if you're an idealist either. Neither does Jerry Jones or anyone else, really. It's a business decision. All this other mess is irrelevant.

No, because he would lose the opportunity to push his agenda all season long

If the Cowboys sign him, he would not get any money until his suspension is over. and he will only get paid for half of the season.

The Cowboys would obviously make it a very team friendly contract where he can be cut at any time with no cap consequence. I doubt the contract would be very much at all.

This is a very low risk signing, I am ok with it

No. The other mess is very relevant. It's honesty and integrity and reward for hard work and good character. It's the shady areas that will end up tarnishing the Patriots records, and could do the very same thing if Tank is signed.

I'm a parent, and I sure don't want my kids or any kids growing up and seeing that kind of high talent, no sense athlete get rewarded big time. I don't understand why more people aren't expecting that sports athletes live up to their position as role models. No, I'm faced with hostility for saying Tank shouldn't be here.

People should care about character a whole lot more!
