I didn't address him at all. I didn't address anyone. I wonder how he was so sure I meant him?

Guilty conscience maybe?

Oh snap. I'm glad I'm not you right now.

To get back on topic from the troll derailment. In the beginning of the second half, Brown was finding creases up the middle. Has anyone reviewed the game and looked to see how much of that was on Ratliff? i know Phillips said that Ratliff played well but hes always going to be smiles, rainbows and lollipops to the media.

This guy is nothing like a Jones or a Henry or even an Elam. the only crimes hes had are of owning guns.

Other than that hes gottent o see his friend die. i can say from personal experience that can clean up a persons act very very quickly.

I see no harm in bringing him in for a get to know you session and if he checks out bring him in. if he still seems like a head case then no thanks. As Theo low risk, high reward.
He wasn't even out of jail good before he was pulled over for suspected drunkenness, which led to him being released by the Bears.

BTW, knuckleheadedness, imo, doesn't always mean having engaged in a criminal activity. Sometimes, these guys are just really immature...and they do some dumb things that just make you shake your head and wonder if they'll ever get it.

Tank didn't just own guns, he owned a freaking arsenal, was accused of animal cruelty to his pit bulls, police were called to his 30 times, was put on house arrest. Dude gets his house invaded by police...apologizes to fans and such, then goes out with his boy, who was unfortunately killed. He was subsequently put on house arrest, but the judge was gracious enough to let him play in the Super Bowl.

Dude's a knucklehead. Don't know how you can look at it any other way.

On the field, tho, I've heard nothing but good things. So we'll see. Since he's from AZ, he'll be closer to home if they sign him.

He isn't even signed and there is uproar.

I don't want him. I think he's not a NT. But I will understand why the FO signs him if they do. We're thin at NT and there aren't many options out there.

I won't like him. But if he does his job and isn't a blemish on the team it could benefit us.

With responses like below, I'm not sure you'll need to.

By the way, I hope you teach your kids not to insult people over the internet. It shows a lack of character.

I don't ban people for insulting me. Especially when it's about the level of "your mama wears combat boots" mentality.

I'm not remotely arguing he isn't a Captain of Knuckleheadedness.

But again, if he can be brought in for a cap friendly contract with incentives for good behavior and minimal damage for an abrupt cutting, the most damage he can possible do is if he manages to talk Romo into going duck hunting with him.

Didnt know about the dog thing. Not that i really mind it but I digress.

I dont see why everyone makes a big deal over the suspicion of DUI thing when it was dropped. He was guilty of speeding.

I get what you mean about people behavior but i also know how impactful the loss of a close friend can be in starighteneing someone out.

In my younger days lets just say i wasnt the most law abiding citizen. I was on pretty much a downward spiral until a friend of mine was shot and killed becaseu of a deal that went bad. Its unfortunate but sometimes knuckleheads need tragedy to see the significance of what they are doing and how they are wrong. It certainly made me reevaluate what i was doing and start back towards a better life.

At the same time i have had other friends that kept on with that same lifestyle and some are in jail or departed etc but for a few of us it was the thing that made us realize that we didn't want that to happen to us and realize that we HAD to change.

Now Im not saying that Tank is anything like that but to be honest i always sympathize for people in situations like his and i also believe that everyone deserves a second chance. If i dont then i condemn myself and well i dont really want to have to do that.

So he takes minimal money from the Cowboys. Still a bad thing. Something Dallas could award Romo, they'd waste on Tank. Not even worth it.

If you sign after week one your contract for the year is not guaranteed. That's why so many smart teams sign vets after the first game. Tank will not get a bonus or else he would have signed with another team by now. Why hand out a bonus to someone no one else wants? Tank is probably here to get his brain picked and MAYBE a workout. But in that order of importance...

I have no doubt that if he's signed, it'll be to a team-friendly contract. Don't even care, really. He was just one of those I thought should've sat for the whole year. But since he's not...and if the 'boys sign him. Then I say sign him to a 2-year deal.

Glad you were able to turn your life around. Tank, may or may not. But since he's been quiet and hasn't done anything since being released by the Bears, he may have a shot.

He's just gotta do it when it's not mandated by the league.

I was one of the strongest proponents of not signing the guy, But through researching all of his short comings ,I realized that not all of the accusations are as serious as a originally thought.

The guy has messed up- a lot- and I think signing him could most likely be a mistake. The NFL is a gamble though. There's no guarantee any of our players wont make a stupid mistake on any giving night. Is the reward worth the risk?

I'm not saying anything one way or the other now but he might not be all bad.

"In November 2005, Johnson was arrested at the Excalibur nightclub in Chicago's Cook County for possession of a handgun in his sport utility vehicle. Johnson pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor gun charge and was sentenced to 18 months probation and 40 hours of community service.

On February 12, 2006, Johnson, while still on probation, was charged with aggravated assault and resisting arrest after allegedly verbally threatening a police officer. Johnson was leaving Level Nightclub on Chicago's Rush Street when the police officer was ticketing a limousine driver whom Johnson had hired. As Johnson allegedly put up a struggle, he was maced and subdued with the help of other police officers. The charges were eventually dropped.

Johnson's mugshot from his arrest.

On December 14, 2006, Lake County police officers searched Johnson's home in Gurnee, Illinois, and allegedly discovered that he possessed six firearms, including two assault rifles. According to police reports, some of the guns were loaded and there were children in the house. Although Johnson was at football practice during the search, his bodyguard William Posey was arrested from his house for alleged possession of marijuana. Johnson was charged with violation to probation and possessing unlicensed weapons.

On December 16, 2006, Johnson's best friend and bodyguard William Posey was killed in a shooting at Ice Bar in Chicago's River North neighborhood. Posey was shot after he was allegedly involved in a fight around midnight. Posey was rushed to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 1:30am. Posey's assailant was not apprehended by the police. On December 28, Chicago Police apprehended Michael Selvie, Posey's alleged assailant. Selvie, a "reputed gang member" has been implicated in over 30 other crimes.

On February 17, 2007, Johnson's lawyer contested a Lake County Circuit Court to drop Johnson's unlicensed weapons charges. His attorney claimed that since Johnson is a resident of Arizona, he does not have to abide to gun registration laws of Illinois. Johnson entered a plea of not guilty on 10 counts of possessing a weapon without the proper state-required ID.

On April 30, Johnson pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor weapons charge as part of an arrangement with prosecutors that will keep him from serving additional jail time. He was sentenced to 45 days in jail, which will be served concurrently with a four-month sentence he's already serving in the Cook County Jail for violating his probation; to donate $2,500 to the Gurnee Police Department and $2,500 to the Gurnee Exchange Club's child abuse prevention program.[20] While he was in jail, many of his teammates and coaches, including Brian Urlacher, Rex Grossman, and Lovie Smith visited Johnson.

However, he will have the opportunity to reduce the sentence to six games if he complies with Commissioner Goodell's guidelines of behavior, which include going to counseling.

On June 22, Johnson was pulled over for speeding in Gilbert, Arizona. According to the police, he was stopped by after driving forty miles per hour in a twenty-five mile per hour zone. He was also suspected of driving while impaired "to the slightest degree", but was released without being booked or charged.

Almost a week after Johnson was waived, the results from a blood test conducted on Johnson when he was pulled over confirmed his blood alcohol content was under the legal limit.

As of September 17, 2007 Johnson was reported to be visiting Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboy training facility."

this guy has let his teammates down on a superbowl team and has not played in over a year. I would imagine if the circumstances are right he will be signed.

However I am not holding my breath that he contributes anything noticeable.

We are going to need some help up front though, teams like the Commanders are going to run us over if something doesnt get changed. We need ellis ability to play the run back and hopefully he will be by october.
