No. The other mess is very relevant. It's honesty and integrity and reward for hard work and good character. It's the shady areas that will end up tarnishing the Patriots records, and could do the very same thing if Tank is signed.

I'm a parent, and I sure don't want my kids or any kids growing up and seeing that kind of high talent, no sense athlete get rewarded big time. I don't understand why more people aren't expecting that sports athletes live up to their position as role models. No, I'm faced with hostility for saying Tank shouldn't be here.

People should care about character a whole lot more!

Michael Irvin and his Canton bust say hello.

Sign the guy to a cheap contract - make it year to year - if he F's up, who cares, we cut him and move on.

Since he's suspended until midseason, he has 6 weeks to commit another crime before he even suits up. He could steal money from the Cowboys before he ever plays a game if he gets another suspension during these next six weeks.

Not a good idea. Not at all!
cant they can place clauses in the contract to prevent this

i think itll b nice to have a fresh guy come in halfway thru the season
itll give us an edge over other teams

Like you Mr moral stand?

Remember when you were going to quit watching the Cowboys games or talking on the forum if we signed TO?

We have heard this same speech from you before right down to the role model for kids speech.

In the end you know what you did? You turned on the game and logged into the forum. you dont even believe the crap you are spewing you are just looking for attention.

IMO you are the same as what you call owens, you are a drama queen who is seeking others attention

No, stupidity is not putting on the flame-resistant glove beforehand.

If you sign him to a team-friendly deal, and there is no reason why you can't at this point, the damage he can cause is minimal.

Just as long as Tank doesn't room with Killa when we go on the road. This could get nasty. :)

Do you remember his speech from Canton, how he was humbled to tell his sons that they should be better men than he was? He certainly is much wiser, more mature man now. My heart went out to him, because we all have shortcomings that we don't want our kids to grow up and live through.

While Michael's choices are his personal responsibility, he was enabled to postpone growing up because of his NFL talent. He was rewarded despite his serious flaws. The system should not reward that kind of talent. And in the Goodell era, the bar is being raised. So the era that Michael played in is going away.

Regardless, Tank should not be signed.

They care about character. They just care about it in the sense that it's a leverage point to reduce the risk for the organization in his contract.

If you can't raise your kids to be responsible human beings because the Cowboys signed Tank Johnson, Lord help you.

And Hostile chimes in with his typical, self congratulating words of STUPIDITY.

Don't care.

I enjoyed the living snot out of watching him play on the field. He is probably my favorite all time player.

His life off the field doesn't mean a whole lot to me.

a pro-rated contract is about 250k... hardly something that would affect Romo's contract negotiations.

That said, this guy is a nucklehead of the highest order. Don't know if he'll ever get it. But if he's signed, guess we'll find out soon enough.

This guy is nothing like a Jones or a Henry or even an Elam. the only crimes hes had are of owning guns.

Other than that hes gottent o see his friend die. i can say from personal experience that can clean up a persons act very very quickly.

I see no harm in bringing him in for a get to know you session and if he checks out bring him in. if he still seems like a head case then no thanks. As Theo low risk, high reward.

With responses like below, I'm not sure you'll need to.

By the way, I hope you teach your kids not to insult people over the internet. It shows a lack of character.
