Didn’t this happen to us earlier this season against Philly?
I dont know. He may have intended to report but the ref didn't acknowledge it. Thats still the players fault. Why else would he have gone over to the ref?!?!?
Wish him happy new year?!
I'm not concerned about the formation I'm just saying the ref ran away as they were reporting. Clock was stopped. No need for him to run off when they are trying to talk to him. They can...but not how they lined up.
I don't think 70 was supposed to report.
As the old saying goes, the only thing the prevent defence does it prevent you from winning...we had them shut down almost the whole damn game, go to prevent, give up an easy Drive an TD..The rules guy said there were 3 fouls on the play by Detroit. Parsons pretty much gave it back the next play. We just got lucky on the do over. Oh well. Any Cowboy fan happy with the way the D performed on the last drive should be drug tested...
He doesn't have to be covered if he reports as eligible. As long as they have 5 ineligible players on the LOS they are good. But if 70 and 68 bother reported then they only have 4 on the LOS>Exactly he was not covered right?
Maybe. I think we were the better team all night and we won. I dont really believe in the "we got lucky" thing. Winners win and losers lose. We have been on both sides of it.What else would he be doing, wishing him a happy new year?
We got a break. It's okay to accept it. I know it flies in the face of popular conspiracies here but a win is a win.
It's not the responsibility of the ref to assist in the player "not drawing attention" to themselves. Eligible lineman is supposed to be announced to the defense over the loudspeaker and in person (that's what Allen is doing when he goes over and talks to the defense). When they heard Allen didn't announce 68 they shouldn't have run the play.Troy has shot that down by saying the players are trying not to draw extra attention to themselves.
This is a family forum.Yea, is that allowed? Three at a time? I really don't know the rule.....
If 70 was elligible, it was very illegal as there were guys on the line outside of himThere was no illegal formation. The guy doing commentary during the game was wrong. St Brown was out there covering up the last lineman.
No, i think one extra guy is there to help disguise what you are doing. The D is going to get notified but you are hoping to keep that info from them as long as possible & hope they don't do a good job of processing it.There were three linemen over there.. Were they all reporting?
Not surprising the talking heads are ignoring the other two penalties and are only lamenting whether both players reported or not.Now try to explain away the other two penalties the Lions committed on that same play.
Nah we kick a fg toHe reported in. The Lions won that game. What if that happened to Dallas when the season mattered? They should award the game to the Lions and fire that ref.
