In other words, these could be potential teams for Dak to consider if there is no extension

Why would any of them pay Dak all time money?

If Dak were 27, maybe, but Dak is 31 and the book is out on him - he can't get it done when it matters most.

So again, why would any of these teams break the bank for Dak?

Tom Brady didn't get a monster deal with Tampa Bay, and yet his resume was light years better than Dak's. Brady got 25 million, and that was just a couple of years ago.

It's not going to happen, and I think even Jerry has figured this out, thus no new deal.

No question. Dak will be the most sought out FA in recent times or maybe in FA history due to him being a QB. The question rises will the team that wins the Dak sweepstakes become a better playoff team?
No, he won't. Think about it and ask yourself just why anyone would break the bank for Dak when even Tom Brady couldn't get a deal anywhere close to what Dak wants when he signed with Tampa.

I wouldn't mind Dak going to the Gnats or Iggles. I would love to see him drag those franchises down.
Is there a lot of obvious trolling like this on these forums or is it usually good back and forth here?

Everyone who hates him thinks that. Some of you have brainwashed yourselves into believing the crap that’s posted about him here. The ones who get paid to talk NFL football and actually played the game don’t spew the BS the fans post here. Dak is only 31 that’s not old for a QB. Being “stuck” is not having a viable QB. If it was up to fans like you we would be stuck with nothing at QB. A 9 year veteran QB that’s won a couple of playoff games, is battle tested and is coming off an MVP caliber season gives me hope.
All of this flailing while trying to ignore the FACTS about Dak in the playoffs. You can't just stomp your feet and make Dak's status as the worst starting QB in NFL playoff history by record go away.

No, his QB record last season with the Colts was 7-6. That’s not going to get it done. Minshew is typical of a castoff that’s bouncing around the league. They’re up and down.
I count 9 wins & 6 losses in the games he started. 2 other losses in games he didn't play or only mopped up.

Not saying he's an answer for us but I am saying you can win games in the NFL with guys like him. It has literally never been easier to put up decent to good numbers as an NFL QB.

Minshew signed a deal that included a $6 million signing bonus. Total $15 million guaranteed on a two year contract. Not bad for a sixth round draft pick who attended four universities in four years looking for a chance to play. There will always be a place on some NFL team for Minshew. The same can be said of Prescott. But Dak’s resume will garner him substantially more money. Money is what pro football players play for. Comparatively few ever play on a Super Bowl winning team. None care what fans think of them one way or the other.

So who are rooting for Dak to be great so he stays here depending production with playoff wins.
Or who is rooting for him to be horrible so one of those teams will pay him what he wants.

:muttley::popcorn:
I'm a Cowboys fan first. I want what's best for the team. If Dak does great, it helps the team. :flagwave: Go Cowboys!

You’re comparing Dak with Gardner Minshew? There’s always going to be a place for castoffs like Minshew because a number of teams don’t have a good QB situation and they need an experienced backup who’s won some games in the league. QB’s like Minshew can hang around for years.

Disagree with Panthers and Browns. Watson is a solid player who is only 28 years old and Young can’t be called a bust quite yet. Levis may surprise in Tennessee as well.

According to pro football reference he had 13 starts last season with Indianapolis and his record was 7-6. You can win some games with a QB like Minshew, but you’re not going to have postseason success and win a championship with them. The last QB I can think of that won a Super Bowl after being kicked to the curb because they weren’t consistent was Doug Williams back in 1987. He took over during that season and got on a roll.

You’re one of those who are ignoring the FACTS about the team in the playoffs. Warren Moon was 3-7 in the playoffs. Dan Marino was 8-10 and Dan Fouts was 3-4. All three of those QBs were first ballot Hall of Famers. If you don’t have a good enough team you’re not going to have postseason success.

Hope for what??? Another choke job in the playoffs? Sounds like pretty crappy hope to me.

Won a couple of playoff games - only one against a team with a winning record in 8 years.

Battle tested - against bad teams only.

MVP caliber season - clearly doesn't mean crap in the playoffs.

Battle tested is used to describe someone or something that has PASSED the test.. Dak has been a total failure at the playoff test. I couldn't care less about regular season MVP awards or near misses. Oh and people who are paid to talk about the league are mostly paid to prop it up and say good things about it and its high profile players. Most other people realize Dak is a loser. Look at the polls on this site and this is a Cowboys fan site for crying out loud.
Battle tested is being reliable and effective. Dak has been reliable and effective, which is why he’s been a starting QB in the league going on 9 seasons and will be the most sought after free agent since Deion Sanders if he becomes available, but the playoffs have been a problem for him and the team. Dak hasn’t been a total failure at the playoff test because he has two playoff wins, and one of those wins was on the road against Tom Brady. The only ones who call Dak a loser are the haters. The lack of playoff success we’ve been seeing with the Cowboys has been going on since Troy Aikman‘s last few years and the fanbase become extremely frustrated.

Gardner Minshew may be our QB in 2025. Brace yourselves for that. The fans will be flocking to Oxnard next summer for training camp to watch a QB battle between Minshew, Cooper Rush, Trey Lance and a draft pick we had to reach for with our first pick. Lol :flagwave:
That would be an even swap. Except Minshew would be a whole lot cheaper.
