Little more to it than that. AP does not dictate where he plays he is under a contract.
If Kyle Orton can AP can

We would be just downright disrespectful to Murray. He's 27 and we rode him like a mule to the playoffs and then we toss him aside to pick up a 30 year old who hasn't played in over a year. AD is an all time great back. But he isn't invincible. What's the guarantee that he's in top form this season? Why can't the Cowboys pony up and pay Murray 6mil/yr (no more than that).
Imagine AP behind this line...
They can cut one player at any time and designate him a June 1st cut.. I think we did this with Austin..
Minn still owns his rights and is not going to let him walk for nothing. They may choose to trade him if he does not want to be in Minn
And AP does not hold the cards he is under contract and him crying is not going to change anything. Fact is the more he crys the more I don't want him in Dallas
And what do you think Peterson will do? Just deal with being in Minny and play? Hell no. Keeping him will just cause drama, he doesn't want to be there. It doesn't matter about the contract, if he doesn't want to play there, he won't play. They'll work something out where they can release him with as little damage as possible.
He's gone. Have you not read up on the Peterson story? The man is furious. I'm not 100% sure he'll be with the Cowboys next season, but he won't be with the Vikings.
I don't see anybody trading for him because his contract follows him to the new team. I don't see a team paying him 12.75M even if he was a free agent. I definitely don't see a team giving up a draft pick for the right to pay him 12.75M. I don't see Peterson agreeing to a pay cut to be traded when he would have more options by forcing them to cut him.
