Guys AP has been telling folks in Houston (offseason home) for weeks he's coming to Dallas. Trust me, Jerry has made it clear to AP this can only be done with a discount. AP has businesses, ranchs, livestock in the state. He is set post career, his main focus is winning and getting closer to home..

No Dallas cannot renegotiate his contract before he gets here. At best, there's a handshake agreement prior, but the trade is based on his Minn deal. No way the clear 13 million just for AP.

The trade can be contingent on a renegotiated deal.

I hope so.

So ready to move on from Murray. Fumbalina

Murray had a total of 3 rushing fumbles and 2 after he caught the ball.
449 touches he fumbled 5 times. That's 89.8 touches between fumbles. That's a lot of touches.
He recovered 2
I think this fumble thing is overblown.

The AP situation is unlikely to be resolved before the Cowboy have to make the decision on Murray.

The Cowboys have to be prepared to go with Randle, Ryan Williams and a draft pick if they don't sign Murray. Maybe something works out with Peterson or maybe not, but, IMO, they have to be prepared if something does not work out with him.
The AP situation won't be resolved before the decision on Murray has to be made. So sign Spiller or Ingram to cover ourselves in case we don't get AP and more importantly, force us to go RB at 27.

This is one of those few situations where everyone wins.

Adrain Peterson wins. He gets to play for his childhood team. He gets to play behind this O Line. He plays for a team many will feel is a Super Bowl contender.

Demarco Murray wins. He is going to get a very big contract. Sure, he wanted to stay in Dallas, but the contract he is about to sign will ensure his grandchildren never have to worry about money.

The Minnesota Vikings win. They move on from a bad PR situation and free up a ton of cap room. Coach Zimmer can go out and sign 3 or 4 starters with the cap room created by Peterson's departure.

The Dallas Cowboys win. You lose Murray and you get All Day...are you kidding me? Plus, he's going to play like a man possessed after sitting out last year.

Jerry Jones wins. Adrian Peterson signs on Monday. Several thousands of #28 Cowboy jerseys sold by Tuesday. Cha Ching!

The NFL wins. A year removed from an ugly year with domestic violence issues, the NFL will also benefit from the buzz and media attention from Peterson joining America's Team.

Actually if memory serves me right AP is actually more fumble prone. Murray lost 5 but had 3-4 others that bounced out of bounds after he lost them.

Say it louder please. It's like people forget about the Cap and shift into Fantasy Football mode. If Adrian Peterson is a Dallas Cowboy next year, and that is a big IF at this point, it will be because the Vikings wanted the money off the their Cap and we signed him as a Free Agent. I seriously, seriously doubt we would make a trade for him. It doesn't make financial sense.

Exactly right.

The entire league is bringing running back salaries down and none is more out of whack than Peterson's. No team in the league - including Minnesota - is paying those salaries.

Things will move forward as soon as Peterson is reinstated and the Vikings ask him to take a pay cut.

He'll refuse and they'll cut him.

i'll take AP's fumbles because he is able to take it to the house. Murray is only able to take it 40 yards. i'll allow you a few more strikeouts if i know you're gonna blast a couple home runs.

Peterson is a freak. I worry about his age. If we are getting the AP from two years ago, I'm all in. I don't want to pay 13 million this year though. However, I'm still drafting someone. Randle should be cut and replaced with another capable back. Peterson only getting older and has had a few seasons where he got hurt and had to hang his cleats up.

Wrong...No one is going to trade for his remaining contract period. Minn may release him but teams aren't stupid.
Dallas will have an inside track to sign him if he is released and willing to play for a "home town" discount.

Think Desean Jackson. No one thought the Eagles would cut him but when no one would trade for him given his huge cap number, the Eagles just cut him.

Minnesota could find themselves in a similar situation. No one is going to trade for his large contract so they'll likely have to cut him.
