Terence Newman is now officially my favorite Cowboy

How on earth will they show any passion and fire, then? How will they ever be like the Ravens? When will we find out if Ray Lewis's dog's are in the house? Who will develop epilepsy for a sack dance?

If there's one guy on defense that it is blatantly obvious Parcells respects deeply, it's Newman - I think we can all agree. If he speaks, I'm sure people listen.

And why wouldnt he? Parcells can put Newman one on one against any WR in the game and automatically assume that side of the field is a non factor.

I wish we actually did that instead of this lame cover-2 zone.

They are also saying that Newman called out the defensive playcalling in the locker room and said he wants the coaches to turn them loose and let them make plays.

Good. Bout time someone calls this defense out. Wish there was more of it. I am very curious to whom he is talking about specifically. Spears? Canty? Bradie? Watkins? R Williams?

Newman threw out some scathing stuff in postgame sound bytes.

Guys were thinking too much. Not playing fast.
People talk and don't deliver.
Mentioned to A. Henry before the game "this was going to be a long night" based on the mood of teammates.

Dunno if this translates to anything different...in fact, it may not. But it was interesting radio.

I saw NFL Live and was impressed by Tnew's words.

As usual he delivered them calmly but with resolve.

I was also impressed by Jason Witten's remark that he thought Tnew was talking about Owens.

I didn't get that feeling at all. I thought it was clear that the 'too much talk from guys who then get abused' line was re the D. And I doubt Tnew would criticize anyone on O when the D has to get its own house in order.

But Jason thought otherwise.

But then that would just show the 'take care of our own business' attitude of both the defensive and the offensive units.

Anyway, Tnew rocks.

Jason probably hadn't heard Newman's comments at that time unless he was standing near him when he said it, so it was probably just reaction to a reporter's question. I guess that tells you what Jason thinks of Terrell, though, when his immediate reaction was to think of him re: Newman's statement.

Then again, I would probably just assume the media is asking questions about Terrell all the time anyway.

This reminds me of the DE from the movie Friday Night Lights. The big dude that doesn't say a word the whole show. But at half time of state, he goes ballistic. ha good stuff. T-New is a great guy.

terence has been one of my favorite cowboys for some time now...

the saints would have beat us 75-10 had he not been out there.

just goes to show you how much of a joke the pro bowl really is.

This is great!!! Newmans words will go a loooong way. I'm sure the coaches will take heed.. Let the D get after people!!!

If he keeps it up they might acually(sp?) start selling his Jersey on ebay...I been trying to buy his Jersey for like a year and a half now.

Not only is he arguably the best pure coverage DB in football, but he has finally emerged as a vocal force on this team. Hopefully the defense will respond to him and step it up in the final weeks of the season.

God I hope so. This is definitely someone I could see the team rallying around. You're putting a lot on his shoulders though. (inept coaching, players not focused)
