Terrance Williams "Took some plays off"

Exactly what I was going to say.

I'm still waiting for someone to provide examples that his "taking games off" hurt his play. I want to see evidence that he can't catch as well, he had two bad games last year in terms of targets and catches: The Houston game and Cardinals games. How many of those were good throws? I don't know. But he had very few dropped passes.

Just a lot of bad arguments here and agendas. Embarrassing, really.

I'm not as concerned about the drops thing. I saw it reported by someone on twitter that the Cowboys had the fewest drops on catchable balls of any team he had charted in recent years. At minimum they had the least drops in the league.

Oh, and was this just tweets or was there an article? I want to see full context.

It was just some tweets. Not sure of the entire context of the interview, but regardless it wasn't very smart to say to a reporter. Same way Randle should have kept quiet about the "meat on the bone" stuff.

Listen, just listen. I don't know what you ae trying to argue, but the fact is, Williams needs to get better. Bottom line. He's not a legit number 2. If that was the case the team would not obviously be giving him heated competition, and he would not come out and make a statement like that. He feels the pressure to be better, 11 touch downs or not, he has to be better and play better.

Every player has to be better and should try to be better. And I've said several times that Williams can still get better and should get better. He's been in the league only two years, you know, and has been very productive already. Among all wide receivers in franchise history, he's third in TD catches in his first two seasons (behind only Bob Hayes and Dez Bryant) and fourth in yards (behind only Hayes, Bryant and Pearson).

I think Street will be pushing for even more playing time this year... I'm hearing he's looking bigger, faster and stronger.

Williams may (or may not) improve upon his consistency level this year. If he does, his spot should be secure. If not, look for a WR to be one of the early picks next year.

Did anybody mention that he had a broken finger in the middle of last season?

Not sure about that, actually. I wasn't being critical of T-will -- I think he'll improve just like most young WRs do. I like the guy. On the other hand, if he doesn't improve, the powers that be may not want to stand pat next offseason. He might be wise to step it up and not be "taking plays off" if that's the case.

I'm just asking because I didn't see it mentioned. I think a broken finger would cause some inconsistency.

No doubt but this is the first I've heard of it lately -- guess I just forgot about it. Me and my senior moments . . . did it actually happen?

Yes, he definitely had a broken finger. He was on the injury report for several weeks.
