Big year for T. Williams. Right number I'd rank him somewhere in the middle tier of all WR2s in the league -- maybe 13th or 14th best.

No shame in that, however, it's OK to be greedy as a fan and hope he elevates his game and moves into the top 10.

If he's the 4th option, what does he do so well for us that he needs to be a number 2, and starting? Is is blocking so great? Does he create mis matches? Is he demanding double teams?

Take off those damn shades. You love anything with a star and refuse to believe anyone with a star can do wrong. You would take 5 Williams at WR, and be happy. Just because he wears a star.

The Bum came out and admitted it. Now you are going to defend Williams against Williams? :lmao:

I am confused as to why people are going bonkers that a #2 WR might be the fourth pass catching option on a team. It's not that outrageous. In New England, when they had Gronk and the Murderer, the #2 WR was the 4th or 5th option in that offense.

It would explain why he disappeared for that stretch of games last year. Having Street supposedly nipping at his heels should keep that from ever happening again

Hopefully, it's a lesson learned for a young player.

I don't understand why any player playing on a rookie deal would ever take plays off. If you want the biggest contract possible, wouldn't you want to perform as best as absolutely possible and give it everything you have? I don't care about what anyone has done before or who else has done it, it's never excusable.

Am I the only one who thinks this is encouraging? Admission of guilt is the first step right? He wants to improve. This shows maturity imo. Seems like he's being dogged. Further he had a pretty nice year for a 2nd receiver. I'm imagining how much he might improve.

When it was Dez, Witten, and LR. LR still played like a true starter. He wasn't special, hmmm but why did he play so well eh? Maybe because he had Romo's trust? Was able to defeat his 1 on 1 coverage's? So there is no excuse T-Will should not be able to be more consistent. Not an all star, consistent.

T-Will does not have Romo's trust, he's a body catcher and a slouch.

That's what I thought, until I heard he was saying this in the past before.

See you missing the fact that maybe Witten and Bryant wouldn't have all those targets, if Williams wasn't taking plays off, and actually stepped up to be a guy Romo could trust.

So you're saying Romo looks at Williams before he looks at Bryant or Witten? How many plays in the playbook do you think have Williams as the primary receiver?

Yes I do, on certain situations I do.

I'm sure Romo looks at T-Will, after seeing double coverage rolled over to Dez's side, which is 85% of the time.

It wasn't working, which is why we started making more play calls to Cole B, he can actually beat his 1 vs 1 consistently.

Williams needs to be a WR that we bring in when we go with 3-4 wide. He does not need to be a starter, when we decide to go with a base formation. Teams will smile at that, and just roll coverage at Dez and blitz the run.

You see...

Everyone here defended this dude and thought I was just hating everyone on the cowboys, and being picky. I knew we were not getting the type of consistent production from the number 2.

But guys like @AdamJT13 went out of their way to show me stats, like stats tell the whole story. Well straight from the horses mouth @AdamJT13 . told you I would tag you.

Coaches said and he said it. Dude was bum status. Now if he really fixes his play, and stops with the body catches he can be a solid number 2-3, right now the bum is more like #4 type WR.

I'm glad he knows he has **** to work on. Now I have hope at the #2 position.

if you read coaches comments they don't intend on fixing the body catching because Williams has small hands for receiver. He gets best separation of all WRs so they will just let him do his thing of getting open and coming back to ball and body catch it.

Yeah, idk how to feel about that. Most consistent or WR's who end up being real good or great have great hands.

What was Romo's passer rating again?

And some people want Romo to throw less often to Dez Bryant and Jason Witten, but throw more to Terrance Williams? Seriously?

I don't want him throwing more to no damn Williams I want him gone.

Point at stats and passer ratings all you want. Playoffs is where it counts, and Room could barely find anyone open vs GB, when dez was doubled.

I don't understand all of this debate. He took plays off because he didn't think he was going to get the ball. Dez was doubled all the time, I absolutely want a #2 WR that is going to take targets from Witten. If they want to double Dez, fine another target should want to go all out and take those looks from Witten or Beasley. I see no justification for Williams taking plays off, regardless of how many targets he didn't get, how good the offense was or any other excuse. I want the best production possible period, not a guy that is conceding plays because he isn’t getting the ball. Go ball out and make them throw you the ball.

Why do you keep saying this? Williams was the single biggest reason we were even able to play in the divisional round. Williams is who got us a spark in the GB game.

You say Dez was doubled? Dude, he's a supposed "top 3 WR" in this league, that shouldn't matter. What did we get from him in the playoffs? One big catch against the Lions, a few unspectacular catchest against GB, and a bobbled "catch".

And we're criticizing T-Will? Where was the Dez that was dominating at the end of the regular season? Certainly wasn't there in the playoffs.

Good luck with that. We're not getting rid of a guy who caught 11 TD passes in his second NFL season.

Romo "barely found anyone" open and still completed 79 percent of his pass attempts? That's impressive.

Yeah I always said Dez needs to work on more things. Which is why I rank us below the giants in terms on WR's.

Dez can't beat double teams, and Williams can't catch or get open consistently

Bottom line is, Williams is a bum. He admitted it. So keep defending T-Will against T-Will
