Davis getting in is a joke. 1 good year and 3 great years does not make a HoFer. Of course there are plenty of undeserving guys in the HoF, like Namath, Swann, etc. Compare Davis' career to TO's and it is even more ridiculous that he got in and TO didn't (and I'm not a TO fan).

T.O should take the high road on this
One and not say anything in the media. Besides I don't think anybody even gives a crap about the hall of fame.

I can't remember the last hof speach I watched.. I didn't even watch Irvins. I caught up on it later because I heard it was good.

T.O top 3 best wr of all time.. dont need to validate my view on it.

It was TO's fault that Tony and JWitten went to Cabo......got it....... now I understand.

He actually bought the tickets, though that's a bad example of the point I was making. I was thinking more of the physical altercation with Hugh Douglas in the locker room, or the dissent he actively sewed against both Jeff Garcia and Donnavan McNabb.

On the field, were you putting your best corner on TO all day man to man?

If you did, would the cb not get eviscerated?

We're gameplans designed weekly to stop TO?

Was TO one of the top 5 most productive 35 year old wideouts in NFL history?

Like Deion always says, (it's all about yo game baby). until I hear a hofer say TO shouldn't be in, media and fans opinions don't mean anything. Players obviously have a different standard

He was a phenomenal player, no doubt.

I never liked TO, even while on the Cowboys. I think he was a selfish player and person during his NFL career. That said, even I think he should have been elected to the Hall of Fame this year, especially when you consider some of the other less deserving wide receivers they have let in.
Agree.

Point being made......when you look at T.O's antics.....didn't seem to harm BFavre......let's see....spoke out against Javon Walker seeking contract increase....held GB & Minn hostage during the off-seasons, took inappropriate photos to show a female journalist, prima donna with Jets, unfriendly with ARodgers early...

....definitely didn't harm the real LT (arrests & all)

.....as for Cabo.....close your eyes.....imagine had that been T.O.

....HOF needs to get rid of the 5'2" writer declaring who is great ON THE FIELD.

And Terrell Davis did, what a joke:facepalm:

Always thought he was way overrated and much of his success was due to their cut blocking.

Just look at the list of backs that had success in Denver after he left. Davis getting all the credit for Elway's 2 SB wins is the only reason he got voted into the HOF.

I admit I haven't studied HOF selections, but if you wanted to show a bias toward skill positions, is TD exhibit A or B?

As long as there's not a statistical criteria a skill position player has to reach to qualify for the HOF and it takes a committee vote to get in there's always going to be a bias. Terrell Davis had only three real solid seasons and was a product of Denver's system that produced several 1000 yard rushers after he retired. Clinton Portis produced two 1500+ seasons in Denver and those were the only two seasons he played in Denver. Orlandis Gary produced almost 1200 yards in 12 games for Denver in 1999. Mike Anderson produced almost 1500 yards in 12 starts for Denver in 2000. Rueben Droughns had two 1200+ seasons in Denver. It seemed like every back Shanahan started produced big. Not trying to say Davis wasn't a good back but he was clearly a product of a couple of real good teams and a system that several other Broncos backs produced big.

Agree and if you would like a similar perspective look at Drew Pearson's stats as opposed to Lynn Swann's.

It's embarrassing.

Statistically, he's one of the top receivers ever, so he didn't get in based on personality it would seem. So this is something that should be addressed at some point...not sure why personality should get in the way of a player getting in with hall of fame credentials?

All we've heard through the years is how Elway would have never won a SB if it wasn't for Terrell Davis. Not saying it isn't true but those two seasons Davis had in Denver certainly didn't warrant a HOF induction. The fact he got in and TO who's receiving numbers are in the top 5 all-time continues to be passed over shows how just biased the HOF voting is.

Everyone knows why Swann is in the HOF, it's all due to his SB X MVP award and being apart of 4 SB wins. He's got probably the weakest regular season numbers of any WR in the HOF and had weaker career numbers than John Stallworth who had to wait longer than Swann to get into the HOF. The only highlights you ever see of Swann are in SB's and those games made his career.

He will get in eventually. At the WR position, only the best of the best get in right away. He is just going to have to wait.
Seriously?? Cris Carter is in for Christ's sake!! Unfortunately for T.O....character must matter.

Maybe if he becomes an ESPN analyst he'll get in. Seems to be the general path to Canton any more when your career doesn't take you there.

That does make a difference. If he transitioned to TV media directly after his playing career, he makes it in the HOF on the first ballot.

I don't think Chris Carter is in the HOF today without his run on ESPN.

They need to stop hating on this guy. Was he kind of a ****** most his career? Yeah, but he was also a phenomenal athlete. How can they ignore that?

LOL, wow ****** is a bad word apparently.
