And he wasn't?
He is arguably top 10-15 at the position, to some, top 5. He is "best of the best"
Those of you bringing up his off the field stuff are the exactly like the people on the voting committee who don't need to be. Either a player belongs in the HOF or they don't. It's just that freaking simple. Bottom line, Owens should have been first ballot.
On the field, were you putting your best corner on TO all day man to man?TOs problem is he did so much to so many teams to sew division ON the field. He's a fairly unique personality that way, but it definitely counts against him. As it should, really.
What do you mean top 10-15? That in itself is ridiculous. He's undisputed top 3 with Moss and Rice. And he wasn't?

I just read where he earned over 70M over his career and currently has a current net worth of $0.00
That is ridiculous!!!
It was TO's fault that Tony and JWitten went to Cabo......got it....... now I understand.TOs problem is he did so much to so many teams to sew division ON the field. He's a fairly unique personality that way, but it definitely counts against him. As it should, really.
TD=Gayle Sayers, short but awesome careers. Like Gale, TD belongs in the HOF.
I disagree. You can discount his 'off the field' actions, but he was a divisive and undermining force in the the locker room. His antics were a detriment to the teams he played on and had an effect on the field. Those of you bringing up his off the field stuff are the exactly like the people on the voting committee who don't need to be. Davis basically had one amazing season and two very good ones. That's it. He was a Super Bowl champion, obviously. What makes it even more silly is that as soon as he was done pretty much anybody they brought in to that cut blocking system of theirs immediately went to town like the son of Jim Brown. Olandis Gary, Mike Anderson and Clinton Portis all racked up yards with reckless abandon.
