Terrell Owens didn't make the HOF again

I dislike TOs antics and never wanted him on the team but anyone who did not vote for him should have their voting rights taken away

(Same for anyone who voted for jerry BTW)

Statistically, he's one of the top receivers ever, so he didn't get in based on personality it would seem. So this is something that should be addressed at some point...not sure why personality should get in the way of a player getting in with hall of fame credentials?
If the personality damages the teams he is on, then it should get in the way. Simple as that.

Neither of those posts comes as any surprise to me. I didn't think he would make it. Probably won't next year.

Top 2 in receiving yards and top 3 in receptions? Only reason he hasn't gotten in for non-football reasons and media butt hurt. It's pathetic how they are black balling him. Harvey got same treatment and it still pisses me off.

TO will get into the Hall at some point...why try and dirty what will eventually be seen as solid Hall of Fame production by a player?

The Cowboys already had a defensive end with FIVE Super Bowl Rings, that waited a very long time before being elected.

Nice sig!

There should be 3 deciding factors and then you are in or you aren't.
Writers should not be one of those factors!

Harvey?

What are they going to do next year when Randy Moss is eligible? Put him in over TO? Moss had his issues as well. Will they make him wait?

Ray Lewis, he's got issues (dead bodies). They going to make him wait?

Not a TO fan, but he should have gotten in.

I agree. The HOF should be judged only by how the player is on the field, not by how well liked he was off it. By that standard, Owens should be in.

Which means Jerry Jones would NOT have made the Hall of Fame.

You have to face facts. It takes more than a great career to get into the HOF. Charles Haley
was a prime example. The ugly truth is that you pretty much have to be popular with the
sports writer empire to get into the hall. Lot's of writers despise TO and it's going to take
some years for him to overcome those negative feelings. Bias is everywhere these days.

Ray Lewis was accused of murder but his only punishment was pleading guilty to obstruction of justice. While in college and in the pros, Randy Moss had several legal issues that were judged as either misdemeanors or dismissed.

With the exception of the Moss 'mooning' incident, neither player brought much negative perception onto the league through on- and off-the-field antics. In my opinion, that's how the Board of Selectors will judge both players, along with their stats and career accolades. If I were a betting man, I would say Lewis and Moss will be inducted in their first year of eligibility.

Owens problem is that the enshrined Hall of Famers do not vote ex-players into their ranks. It's likely he would have already gotten in on his try if that was the case. It's not. Owens' antics both on and off the field, sometimes tenuous relationship with the media, and the controversial nature of his tenure with various teams, are why the Board of Selectors are blocking him from induction.

If Owens had foresight or awareness that the people who mattered didn't care for his nonsense, he would've been sporting a gold jacket last year. Unfair? Yes. Totally foreseeable? Yes times two.

It is a team game.

He was never a good team player, just a stats getter. Thus, not deserving, IMO.

The HOF is an individual award, not a team award. They elect PLAYERS in the HOF, not teams. TO not getting in is a joke

Might be a joke but, the joke's on him. They no likey the TO drama so he must sit in TO (time out!).
