What are they going to do next year when Randy Moss is eligible? Put him in over TO? Moss had his issues as well. Will they make him wait?
Ray Lewis, he's got issues (dead bodies). They going to make him wait?
Not a TO fan, but he should have gotten in.
Ray Lewis was accused of murder but his only punishment was pleading guilty to obstruction of justice. While in college and in the pros, Randy Moss had several legal issues that were judged as either misdemeanors or dismissed.
With the exception of the Moss 'mooning' incident, neither player brought much negative perception onto the league through on- and off-the-field antics. In my opinion, that's how the Board of Selectors will judge both players, along with their stats and career accolades. If I were a betting man, I would say Lewis and Moss will be inducted in their first year of eligibility.
Owens problem is that the enshrined Hall of Famers do not vote ex-players into their ranks. It's likely he would have already gotten in on his try if that was the case. It's not. Owens' antics both on and off the field, sometimes tenuous relationship with the media, and the controversial nature of his tenure with various teams, are why the Board of Selectors are blocking him from induction.
If Owens had foresight or awareness that the people who mattered didn't care for his nonsense, he would've been sporting a gold jacket last year. Unfair? Yes. Totally foreseeable? Yes times two.
