Terrence Williams is not worth 10 million

I have to correct myself with Maclin as a possibility in KC and Doug freakin Baldwin kind of came out of no where last year in Seattle.

Edelman is better than both of those too. AZ might not have one guy who stands out, but they have a very good group overall.

I still think Hurns might be overpaid...or paid too soon. He was an UDFA though wasn't he? 1,000 yds is good, but not great. Certainly not 10 mil worth IMO. Williams gets too much flak for a 700-850 yd 7TD type guy.

Thats not a bad contract for Hurns at all. He isnt definitely one of the top #2 WRs in in NFL and 10 million per for a 24 year old WR coming off off of a 60 catch, 1000 yard, 16.0 ypc with 10 TDs isnt bad at all

I'm already on record as saying either Butler is the #2 next year or we draft TWill's replacment next spring.

Robinson is still the team's 2nd-best WR in this decade.

Based on just one season.

Only 26 receivers in the NFL broke 1000 yards, and of those 4 were tight ends.

Of those receivers who had more yards than him only 7 had more touchdowns.

That solidly puts him in #1 category, a nice feat for not playing in every game.

But there are 16 games in a season?

All it tells me is Jags have money to burn, but Cowboys wouldn't pay T-Will or another #2 WR that.

Being that he's going into a contract year I fully expect him to turn in the best season of his career, having said that, I'm fine letting him walk after the season.

The writing is on the wall that Williams gets to walk after this season. He's good enough to want to test the market, but not so good that we're going to want to lock him down.

If he has a good year he could pull a Laurent Robinson and dupe some team into setting him up for life financially.

I don't think he comes back either way though. Unless he gets injured or some other odd circumstance comes up.

He'll probably just be one of the guys that will go to a team that's willing to pay him more than Dallas is.

It's still about 70 yds a game. Nothing spectacular. Are there 26 guys you'd give 10 million per to?

I can't read this entire thread to say this: He is my least favorite cowboys (by far) and can leave right now and I would be pretty happy about it...he is ONLY good when a play breaks down and Tony finds him...otherwise, he is crapola...don't let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya.....

I don't see him as an Alvin Harper.
That is still exactly how I see him. Capable under the right circumstances, makes a big play occasionally, but disappears a lot as well.

He just is what he is. You don't give players like that second contracts. You let them go elsewhere to make their big payday.

Really? I can think of several underperforming cornerbacks, a headcase MLB and few dumb safeties I would put on my list first.

I just don't see any effort, any skill other that street ball...it's like tony says "go out over there and if the play breaks down, I will throw it to you"....you can't rely on this guy...and we found out once Dez went down just how truly worthless he was

My fear is Williams will say he is the #2 starter

Why fear that as he would be correct. He is the Dallas Cowboys number two and as been for three years now.

We can just do better though and we should just move on from him.

They have always been a run first pass second team. That might be why it seems like he exploded last year, but he has always been a clutch performer who Wilson would look at.

I can agree with that. But there was a period of time where he was second fiddle to Golden Tate and after last year he doesnt apear to be in the same league.

Note that while comparing stats, remember who was throwing the ball to these guys.

Would Terrence Williams have been able to put up the same stats or better than Hurns' if he had Bortles throwing to him?
