The QB club protects its own.
This concerns me a bit .......if he doesn't sign I sure as hell hope he doesn't play scared or worrying about injury.Injury risk.
Don't even know if I'd go that far. Dak has had much better teams throughout his career.Dak is a slightly better Kirk Cousins. Washington didn't even give Kirk a second contract. All these talking heads act like Dak has 3 Super Bowls.
What positivity are you talking about Rokko?Any time anyone says anything positive about Dak, it brinks out the trolls. They just can’t stand any kind of positivity when it comes to the QB.
They will.He can "bleep" off and see if another team wants him for top QB money after this season.
It's simple supply and demand. The market is set and he gets between 58 and 62 a year. It is what it is. There are only 7 to 10 qbs in the world that can play as well as Prescott and there are 32 teams. 32 - 10 = 22.I've always been a Dak fan, I think it's a great story for a 4th round pick to have an impressive career starting from his first game as a rookie.
Dak has some great attributes but he also has some limitations. He's not he kind of QB that can carry a team on his shoulders. He's the kind of quarterback who can win when the team is doing their jobs.
You don't pay a quarterback the league's top salaries when the team has nothing to show that would justify it. Regular season games do not het you the top salaries in the league. At least, it shouldn't.
The type of salary that his agent is leveraging for would empty the talent support that Dak needs and has always been given. No other QB since 2016 has more Pro Bowlers and 1st team All-Pros on their offense.
If Dak was smart then he would lower his demands and thus raise his probability of the team winning a championship.
If he plays well someone definitely will and you can book it! Put him a complete team that has a running threat, good coaching and a solid defense and he can lead a team to a championship and there’s no doubt in my mind. He puts up great numbers and has had some good playoff games when the team has played well around him, Dak will get paid by the Cowboys or someone else. We have nothing behind him giving him all the leverage. He can "bleep" off and see if another team wants him for top QB money after this season.
Jerry is just dragging it out to make CD and Micah play on their 5th year options. He has made it clear the priority order is Dak, CD and then Micah. By dragging it out with Dak, you delay CD and Micah.
Maybe it's just me but it appears Dak has stronger support outside of Cowboy Nations. It is rare for a team to allow its franchise QB's contract to reach its final year........, especially w/o a trade and/or franchise tag options. Unless they are preparing to move on.......

It's pretty close I was giving Dak that much because he has 2 playoffs wins to Kirk's 1 and finished 2nd in MVP voting (although it was a weak schedule last season). But yes he's had better teams so there's that. Regardless Cousins is on his 3rd team and here the Cowboys are still holding on to Dak so far.Don't even know if I'd go that far. Fair enough. I pretty much see them as the same tier of qb as well. It's pretty close I was giving Dak that much because he has 2 playoffs wins to Kirk's 1 and finished 2nd in MVP voting (although it was a weak schedule last season). These talking head make me laugh. Sure, they say stuff like this now, but when Jerry gives Dak $60 million or more they will say he isn't worth it and criticize Jerry for giving him too much money. This is what they do because they talk and move on. They never have to worry about the consequences of their decisions.

I’m sure he’d rather stay here. But he also knows that he’s gonna get paid either way.Dak doesn't have the leverage he thought he had. He doesn't really want to test the market. He thought he had the Jones over a barrel, but they see now teams are doing well building a good team and getting a young qb on a smaller contract.
