This wasn’t about Amari. The poster you responded to claimed he was amazing. He wasn’t amazing but he was solid considering the team he played for and QB situation. He’s an upgrade over Noah Brown for sure.
uhh … yes, it was about Amari. He was being sarcastic when he said he was amazing and quoted his 865 yards as “irreplaceable” again, sarcastically.

Good value, but not thrilled with trade. Lamb is 6.2, Gallup is 6.1...not sure what youre getting at here with height?
cooks is 5'10". Id like a big guy to go up in red zone to battle 1 on 1. That aint lamb, that aint cooks... Gallup hs shown he can, bt again, at 6'1" he isnt going to physically dominate.

Only failure to those fans that want to see failure no matter what the FO says or does.
dunno seems to be a pretty big consensus (in general not necessarily here) that reading amari for a 5th was a bad move and put them in a bad spot that they’ve been trying to fix since

Anyone unhappy about this trade and player combo is missing the value and impact.

This gives dallas a number 1 and two number 2 recievers with a couple more guys in terms of depth. The wr core is improved greatly from where it started in 2022.

Additionally the draft comp is a value as is the salary implications. Finally wr becomes a smaller area of focus in the draft and gives the team more flexibility.

Yes I think we would have been better with Hopkins but value wise this is hard to beat and...who's to say they are done?

So very pleasantly surprised with this FA

The team had to get out of a bad contract and 22 was the time to do it. You knew that would be the case when he originally signed the deal.
We all know why Cooper was traded, it had nothing to do with his contract or performance on the field....It was personal because Jerry didn't like the fact he didn't get some shot in his arm that we were all lied to about and he wasn't some ruh ruh guy like an Irvin, he was cerebral and played Chess instead of hanging out in strip bars....If it was his contract, they could have renegotiated it to create cap money like they've done to at least a handful of player this offseason...

shows the colossal failure of the brain trust by having to make another trade and pay big money for a receiver they already had on the roster....
If it any consolation, keeping Cooper would have a much higher cap hit for Dallas than Cooks does now. Even if they keep Cooks next season, his cap hit will be far lower than Cooper's. If they are indeed the same WR on the field, one is being paid more than the other in terms of cap hits or potential dead money.

It’s OK mainly because I think it will keep us from making major mistakes with WRs this year.

Most of the veteran options involved a 30+ yr old and giving up a 1st or second day pick. At best we would have them for 2-3 years while they decline.

The WR class in the drafted is weaker than the last few years. On top of that at least 3 or 4 WRs would be gone before we picked. Not to mention if we drafted a WR in the first we would’ve used 3 of our last 5 1sts on WR.
By our late pick in round 2 we would likely be looking at the 7th-9th best prospect.

At least Cooks should be a noticeable upgrade and only cost a couple of late picks.

Cooks has got to be the most traded player of all time
I like acquiring the talent, but I'm leery of his simply for that fact. Why do teams go and get him, and then soon thereafter want to dump him?

Damn good post TMC....some people are like an old dog laying on a rusty nail...moaning and groaning. If you don't like it, get up and move. Or in this case, sthu. This is a VERY low risk, high reward move. Quit whining people.
Agreed. Let’s be thankful these moves look good and they are making them. These are typically the moves we get upset other teams make that we don’t.

If they take a RB in the first round, this board will explode.
I dunno man,
There's a decent sized group wanting Bijan Robinson or Jahmyr Gibbs at #26.
Unless you meant explode in a good way.
