TRADED Texans trade WR Brandin Cooks to Cowboys

Another player who will be frustrated that his QB can't get the ball to him when he's wide open. Only this one cost us 2 draft picks.

And you just got roped in and added your own....
You see what I'M saying.
I literally said that in the post you responded to. Here it is again.

"But then you come in with a stupid (off topic) comment. Then I follow that up with a stupid (off topic) comment, then, and then, and on, and on.......

You clearly aren't seeing what I'm saying.

(now we're into the "then, and then, and on, and on" portion of the show....)

You think your some kind of leader. Ok then..... LEAD.

Good value for Dallas. I was against using a 2nd or a 1st for him last year. That was too high of draft compensation for him plus picking up his contract. For that you want a difference maker. That isn't him. He is a good receiver and improves the WR corp, but he isn't a difference maker. Those guys are rare and cost a ton to get unless you land one in the draft. Dallas got a good deal and have improved. That matters. They also don't have to reach in the draft for a WR or reliant on a rookie WR to immediately come in and produce.

i love it. was just responding to an amari take i disagreed with by making an equally bad point
This wasn’t about Amari. The poster you responded to claimed he was amazing. He wasn’t amazing but he was solid considering the team he played for and QB situation. He’s an upgrade over Noah Brown for sure.

He’s not the receiver teams think he is, lol?

Yet, somehow he keeps ringing up 1,000+ seasons.

I think the more accurate description is that a lot of our fans are unfamiliar with Cooks.
Considering one of our “own fans” didn’t know Lamb played primarily in the slot last year, I’d be surprised if they even watch out games let alone other teams games.

He is definitely an upgrade over Noah Brown— and in truth— this is not a very impressive draft when it comes to WR, so a move like this was always a realistic scenario

In the end, we are better at WR than we were 24 hrs ago. That is something at least lol
Its a solid trade for probably a top 10 WR in the league year end year out. The guy has been solid for what we gave up its a great deal.

That’s an odd agenda though lol. We ask this front office to make moves now we are mad at who the moves for.
Damn good post TMC....some people are like an old dog laying on a rusty nail...moaning and groaning. If you don't like it, get up and move. Or in this case, sthu. This is a VERY low risk, high reward move. Quit whining people.

Another tremendous accomplishment for our much-maligned front office this year.

I really think they’re killing it.

You nailed it. Cooks is better than anyone the Cowboys have except for Lamb. And for a 5th and 6th? And Jerry getting Hilton for a 5th? Jerry must’ve changed liquor brands because he’s killing it so far.

IM not thrilled with this deal. 5'10"? Id much have rather gotten Dhop, but it is what it is. The price was right, which was basically nothing. He will be turning 30 atthe start of this upcoming season, and we will have him the following year for only 13 million, so IF he is productive it would be worth it. Gallup is the key here. We need him to be totally healthy and productive in the red zone..... what is the avg height of our wr corps? 5'9"?
Most last season were 6-0 to 6-1, Fehoko is 6-3, 220.

Good move. Cooks is not coming here to be the man, he is coming to be a piece of the offense. The team is trying to make moves. I’m not mad at them.

Good value, but not thrilled with trade. Lamb is 6.2, Gallup is 6.1...not sure what youre getting at here with height?

Keep in mind Cooks has a 2024 cap hit of $24.6M with no dead money for Dallas to worry about and will be 30 years old this season so this may be a one-and-done season trade opportunity for Dallas.
If traded to Dallas, the guess is that Cooks will be placed in the slot given Gallup and Lamb are on the outside.
Always lead with the negativity.

The compensation sounds acceptable, but the player is rather underwhelming.
Out of a maximum 146 regular season games since he entered the league in 2014, Cooks has played in 132 of them (90%), and started in 120 of those games (82%).
630 receptions, 8616 yds, six 1,000 yd seasons four with 1,100+),13.7 yds/rec, 371 catches for 1st downs, 65 yds/game, 49 TDs, 50 rushes, 309 yds, 2TDs

Coopers gone. This will we our 2nd season without him. Obviously the front office messed up there but it's irrelevant at this point.
It was the right move to make.
Is the Cooper trade going to live on as an urban myth, like ruing players not selected in the draft.? :muttley:
