TRADED Texans trade WR Brandin Cooks to Cowboys

I put Brees, Brady, and Goff in the same sentence as those were Cooks' QB's the first 6 years of his career....and I agree Carr and Prescott are better than Mills....but I guess you simply failed to see my point that Cooks had better QB's early in his career than Cooper had when comparing their cumulative stats.
:lmao2::lmao2::lmao2::lmao::lmao:

Well we got a wr with some speed. Tolbert hopefully makes a solid step this offseason. And maybe Michael Gallup returns to form. We still need a game changing TE. Someone athletic and can be a beast over the middle.

Doesn’t matter who we get—here’s never a shortage of unhappy campers.

Good receiver for a fifth and sixth? That’s a win!
they just want to be miserable

board was asking for receivers and even Cooks at times they get him and still whine

Spot on.
THIS is the part that's being overlooked, ignored or just too blind to see.
Here is the irony: they fire Kellen Moore because, as fat Mike said "Kellen wants to light the scoreboard up, but I want him to run the damn ball so I can rest my defense."

So what do they do? They go out and add a deep-threat WR to the mix and cut Zeke Elliott.

While I am not questioning the trade for Cooks was a good trade based on compensation, doesn't this go completely against what McCarthy said????

It's a smokescreen. They are now going to draft 4 RB's. That will show the league!!!

TOLD YOU YESTERDAY this is who we would end up with....NOT IMPRESSED!!!!!!!! So is this it?????
Look at me! Look at me! I “TOLD YOU YESTERDAY” this is who we would end up with. Folks these days need the constant affirmation.

Hmmm. They choose this year to be at least somewhat active in FA.

Let the HC take control.

Almost like they are taking excuses off the board.
True,
When it all comes crashing down around the new playcalling HC I'm gonna feel sorry that the reality of Favre and Rodgers as your QB is quite different from SleepNumber.

It wouldn't surprise me if McCarthy ends us sending Moore a formal apology, lol.

The only question that remains for me is I wonder who Quinn will hire as his OC?

Wow!! They go into the draft with no desperate needs. Importantly, LG is theoretically covered with Tyler at LG and Tyron LT. WR Cooks pairs well with Gallop.

The #1 priority has to be a DT1 but there are none worthy of 1 round except Jalen Carter. I would make the move up. I imagine it would cost 2x 1st rounders and a player. My position is go for it.

Exactly.
If the offseason is all about getting back to running the ball effectively then why so much emphasis on a WR2 acquisition.

Something ain't right.
Cuz any Cowboy offense described as high volume passing with SleepNumber as its decisionmaker ain't gonna be successful.

McCarthy's history of effective run games is practically non existent but it sounds like all the right things for for him to say in an offseason where he fired his OC.

We'll see, lol
Cowboys!

I think that’s just a jaded fan’s perspective. More likely they actually trust McCarthy and Quinn and are giving them more input so they can win.

And Cooks missed 4 games last year. He really hasn’t been much better than Cooks the last couple years. But I guess the stats don’t matter.

All that matters is that he is a YUGE upgrade compared to "Clifford Franklin"... aka... Noah Brown.

I don't think it does. You still need WR's that are a threat to score. As well, get deep to stretch the field. This can help the run game as they can't stack the box as often. This is one argument that they should have kept Zeke. But not at his cap hit.

Trading for Cooks does not mean they want to pass more or light up the score board. Only to help the offense move the ball, get 1st downs, control the clock. But yet, also be able to score quick when needed or when they want to.
